I've never played lol and am scared I am too far behind everyone to bother starting.

I like watching the guys on Twitch that play it though. Some of those guys have so much shite going on I am in awe.

It's pretty easy compared to SC2 and some other pc games. The only thing you need to learn is how to last hit minions and learn a champion. After that it's learning builds and little things.

Low level summoners are terrible.

I started a new account and I'm raping. It's easy to play, but it gets difficult as your summoner level increases.

With respect to micro, yes.

The amount of knowledge required to be qualified as an "advanced" Dota 2 player, however, is substantially more than most games. You could invest 500 hours into this game and still not have a sound understanding of certain character builds and dynamics.

steam sent me 23 codes for dota2

you and a million other people.

I've had 6 in my account for a while. Apparently the dota2 subreddit is full of people with extra codes and they can't give them away because everyone already has it and extra codes themselves.

It is good marketing though. Get everyone to play the beta and then once they get hooked you have a new customer once it launches.

It's not like the SC2 meta isn't complex, or that dota 2 doesn't take skill. I'm just saying that dota or lol are far easier games when someone starts playing.
