Outside the box idea for fed gov/school security: feasible?

If the federal government really wants to make themselves useful, how about creating a program that accepts applications from military veterans leaving the service. They are accepted based on disciplinary record, psychological record, etc,

If they are accepted, they are put in a pool based on geographic area of where they call home, either state, county or more specific.

Counties and municipalities, if they choose, can use the program to interview/hire from the pool as their employee. If they choose to participate, they may receive some form of kickback/incentive.

You get veterans who are proficient in firearms and trained to be extremely cognizant of civilian safety and who are back home with a job.

Perhaps in theory, this is a good idea. Here's the problem...do you realize how many people in this country don't trust certain "entities" within our federal government?

You could just get rid of the "gun free zones" at public schools. Allow teachers that are concealed carry permit holders to carry. If you want to cover the liability angle, tell them they have to qualify every year with their carry gun. Pay them an extra $5k a year for the trouble. They would line up. Hell, in AL they have more protections than police. They could shoot the wrong person and not miss a paycheck.

I'm not sure what you're asking. I believe it's perhaps a good idea to hire local people and teachers to carry concealed weapons for protection of students and others within school zones and I've seen some good ideas on here for facilitating this.

I do believe it's a much more legitimate goal for our government, only if the money can be used in place of wasting it all over the world in unnecessary military and other covert, if not outright sinister operations, as many believe, whereby I'm not sure what to believe. I just think a lot of money is wasted.
