Went to the Londoner to chill out and i ordered a guinn pint.

They were like, HOW THE FUCC you drink that shat.

I told them that its an acquired taste, and the bitterness is a good bitterness.

Anybody else drink Guinness?

Not much. I like my stouts a little heavier. I'm more of an imperial stout guy. To me, Old Rasputin blows Guinness away.

Love it. Especially on draft with a nitro pour.

I don't mind it at all. I've heard though, that here in the States it's nothing like the real thing in Ireland.

Because its dark

That's it

I've heard " I don't like dark beers, it's too heavy" about Shiner too

I used to think it was too. You gotta remember that the majority of people are used to drinking Bud Light, Miller Lite, High Life, Coors Lite, etc... A beer like Guinness is really heavy compared to those. Compared to good imperial stouts, it's not heavy.

Yep. It always astonishes me when people judge a beer by its color alone.

Final Gravity of Guinness is not much different from light lagers

But people don't know that. If you said 'final gravity' to the average beer drinker, they'd probably look at you like you were crazy It gets the heavy label because it is a stout, albeit a light one. I'm not saying it's correct, I'm just explaining that it's thought to be heavy out of sheer ignorance. I used to think drinking a Guinness would be like drinking motor oil, back before I tried anything but bud light.
