Wouldn't they be losing money?

Probably not. Most likely North Berkeley is providing all the wines for free. It isnt a Commanders event but a Keife & Co./North Berkeley Event.

Nah. Commanders does 2 and 3 course meals from time to time for lower prices than this. The wine maker is probably providing the wine for free or pretty damn cheap.
Wine maker gets the publicity and a captive audience to try their product. I'm sure Commanders will agree to carry their wines(or maybe add a few more).

The food cost of what they serving isn't very high, they not going to have a dinner and loose money on it. Its pretty much a wine tasting with meal provided. NBD

Plus I'm sure Monday night that week is probably pretty slow.

I was just thinking 8 glasses of wine alone is worth more than $50

But are they glasses or tastes?

That is not a deal, I would say more like robbery at the victims own choosing.

Tastes. Probably 1-1.5 oz pours. Equivalent of 2-3 glasses most likely.

How? And for the other comments about the money issues. Commander's is getting $50 fo a three course meal...pretty good...the wine vendor will sell a shite load of wine to the patrons...it'll make a killing. And, the patrons get a good meal, a buzz, and have a few cases of wine delivered within a week or so. Everyone wins.

Have learned lesson and will no longer post things that could be interesting to people who like food or wine on a message board.
But personally looking forward to it.

come on now, you've got a thicker skin than that...

I think it's a fine deal. I just don't do Monday outings, which is probably a major reason why it is on Monday to draw crowds.
