The early defections' sobering moment approaching: the Draft

I see 2 first rounders, but after that, I sense some of these guys have overvalued themselves. It could be a learning situation for underclass men in the future.
Not hating at all, but if their expectations hold true, they will go down as the most prized junior crew in NCAA history. While talented, they are not historical.
Again, not hating and I am wondering what's driving the impatient bandwagon......

Money is driving them. It's their careers but patience is a virtue

Except for Simon, who could really improve their stock?
Minter is discussed as a possible late first rounder, he probably goes 2nd, but he could not have a better season next year. He won't get taller or faster in one year, what could he do to improve his position? Same with Ware, he is what he is and it's not that he won't get enough carries to post big numbers. Montee Ball from Wisconsin did and he probably goes 3rd round at best.

he said in a radio interview the other day that he was projected around the 3rd round. I was a bit surprised that he would still go with that kind of grade.

These guys rae really not that good - I predict 1 first rounder, 1 2nd the rest go 3rd thru 6th

Mingo, Montgomery and Logan are all first rounders. Reid and Minter are both projected in mocks right now as late first, early second.

Simple rule: if you grade 3rd or lower, you stay.....

I haven't seen Logan consistently listed as a 1st rounder.

I'm giving you what Minter said directly on the 3rd round projection. guessing that came from the NFL's advisory board or whatever. maybe they're known for being conservative, maybe he feels like he can improve his standing, or maybe he's just ready to play NFL ball. at any rate, that's what he said.

Another Simple rule: if you don't want to be here any more, you should leave
I just think they are ready to move on, whether that is the right decision or not, only time will tell

Brockers wasn't consistently a first rounder in mocks until after he declared. Logan will be a first rounder barring a bad pro day. I think that is what will make or break minter also is his pro day.

It is very possible to have 4, it all depends on the needs and runs on certain positions.

This is a LOT of guys bolting at once.. Any logical person would know this isnt a normal scene. I realize theyre are grabbing the $ which is cool, but that many in one year, something's up.

Silly cliche. Tell me what Kevin Minter could do to improve his draft stock by playing another year? He's already graduated, even a 3rd round pick is a millionaire.

I've seen mocks with him late first. 3rd is the latest he goes, maybe you can explain how an extra year will improve his draft stock. Think he will have a better season?

Even with the new rookie salary scale??
I just think unless you're going to move into the top half of the first round, it makes sense to get to the NFL as quick as possible so you can get through the lower rookie contract to your second contract where the potential for the big payday now waits.
Also, all of these guys were huge contributors for 3 years. At this point, we know what they are, and so does the NFL.
I really think they're all making the right decision and am not surprised one bit by any of them.
Sure, I think most of them will be 3rd round guys or later, but I honestly can't say any of them would benefit much by returning.
The only one that could possibly make it to the first round by returning is Logan.

Reid can only go down - go
Minter is as high as he is going to get - go
Mingo projects as an NFL OLB and he won't play that position at LSU - go
Montgomery is a light speed rushing DE, he could use another year but it is unlikely he could improve his stock much more - go
Logan should test well, but he could definitely use another year as the man on the DL - should stay
Ware is what he is - go
Faulk coming off an injury wants to get paid to return from a bad injury, I would prefer to see him come back but I get wanting to move on and avoid a lattimore type of situation - go
Simon is simply ready to get paid. - go

So Kellen Moore should still be at BYU trying to improve his stock

We all know if these kids have excellent pro days they could move up. I mean this board blasted Ridley for leaving early, calling it a mistake saying he was a 5th round or later pick (myself included) but NE fell in love with him and took him in 3rd and now look.
Some of these guys could come back and hurt their stock (injury/poor play) some could help it, but I don't believe any could help it so much as to move into top 10 status which is where the real money is.
