Wasn't Auburn's class in the Top 5 the last couple of years? Turned out well.

Wisconsin is located in 2 star hell anyway. That's probably one of the reasons he wanted to get further South. That part of the country is a recruiting graveyard. I know he had a lot of players from Florida on defense.

Now, granted, Arkansas isn't much better, but it is much closer to those areas, i.e. Texas, Memphis, Louisiana, etc.

I think Bielema is a savvy guy honestly. He may seem kinda sleezy, but I think he's one of those win at all costs kind of guys. That's almost a prerequisite to coach in this conference. I think he will find a way to be at least somewhat successful, even if he has to overhaul his offense to do so. He's young, fiery, and kind of a shite stirrer, has a hot wife, etc.. That will probably translate well in the SEC.

Bielema is a Blivit (10lbs of shite in a 5lb bag). Calls time out to kick field goals in blowout wins. I look forward to seeing him have his arse handed to him.

He should have been reeling in those abundance of big-time recruits from Minnesota, Iowa, North and South Dakota.

yet he's managed to put up 11+ win seasons with subpar recruiting. the guy can coach.

it's easy to win a lot of games with no pressure...

Then why wasn't the coach at Indiana just pumping out 11 win seasons? Not much pressure to win there...

someone said the other day he is 8-12 against top 25 opposition. And in this thread the lack of wins against top 15 teams since '09 was mentioned. With the big12/11/10 not being that good, that record should be significantly better if "he can coach." not impressed.

The guy never turns out great recruiting classes.
In fact, he's so bad at it, he had to complain about Urban Meyer using "SEC tactics" when recruiting against him last year.
If he couldn't turn out a top 25 class once in 7 years of using the gentleman's rule of recruiting in the Big 10, how will he be able to field a team when he has to battle with the likes of Texas, A&M, LSU, Oklahoma, Florida, Bama, Georgia etc etc year in and year out for athletes.
He has no ties or ins with kids down here.

I think it was a terrible hire. He's proven moderate success in an effortless recruiting environment over a 7 year span. His job just got 25x harder and its happening with a program that's currently a dumpster fire.

I'm a Wisconsin fan but have always disliked Bielema. Arkansas won't enjoy this ride.

You forgot that he never puts anybody in the NFL. The stupidity of some posts on he is really beyond belief but every time I think posts couldn’t get any more idiotic I’m proven wrong.

If I was a hog fan I'll be waiting for the OC hire. I will LOL all season long if they're going to be "Poor Bama Lite"

so you're saying that he wins about 50% against the top teams in the conference and took his team to three BCS bowls at a historically terrible school using mediocre recruits and without much monetary support from the athletic department?

sounds like good coaching to me!

Wut? 8-12 is not almost .500. Um, that sucks. If you're happy with that, your standards are really low. Now, he might turn out to be great but, his record indicates he won't because the competition is about to get much much harder.

Think about it, how many tough games are there each season in yhe bigwhatever.? 2? Maybe 3?

Making the rose bowl is not a big deal since '06.

And this business about him having less talent, the better coaches find a way to win despite that. Like saban at msu or petrino at ark.

this makes no sense. everyone knew that petrino could coach offense with the best. it was his personality that was questionable and guess what, that concern was well founded.

bb isn't even over .500 against like competition in a conference that isn't nearly as tough as the sec.

He is a defensive coach. Half of the SEC rant has no clue. Go check Wisconsin's defensive rankings for the last several years.

It is much easier to recruit to Arkansas than Wisconsin. We are located much closer to better talent.
