Trey Wingo just said Jenkins deserves some votes for Defensive Player of the Year. Now clearly he won't win it with how bad our D is. But I have to agree with him here. Malcolm has made some big plays the past few weeks. The touchdown saving tackle against Tampa, the pass breakups against Atlanta, and the interception against Oakland. You c an argue whether he or Lofton has been our best player on defense this year. I know many posters have dogged on Malcolm most of this season but lets show him a little love in this thread. This is to you MJ. Keep it up

also was the one who batted the pass into the air in the Chargers game that Harper ended up picking off. that turnover sealed our first win

I'm sure he's tearing up as he looks at his checking account when the direct deposit paychecks hit.

He can be money, but when he's bad, he's bad. Jekyll and Hyde brother.

And ESPN wonders why their credibility is near zero.

You're getting carried away. Let's not forget how absolutely horrible he was to start the year.

I would actually like to see if we could get a "ballhawk" type guy, put him at FS, and move Malcolm to SS. I think he would be fine there.

I think Mal has been ripped last year and the start of this one quite fairly.
He also has been getting his props around here for the last three weeks.
Wingo be drankin or sumpthin.

He's played really well since the Tampa game and has always been one of our more solid tacklers.

Malcolm Jenkins is an absolute piss poor tackler. I swear sometimes I think he is a bilateral arm amputee out there. He thinks he can just hit players to the ground.

Ok let's not kid ourselves here. Since the Tampa game he's been huge, but before then this season, and parts of last season he was been flat out BAD at times. Everyone loves to hate on Harper and sweep up Jenkin's mistakes under the rug, but Jenkins was not performing at a good level for large parts of last year and this year. Wasn't that his blown coverage that let Vernon Davis score last year in the playoffs?

He doesn't tackle with any kind of form, he just lunges at people and tries to knock them on their arse to tackle them. It causes whiffs.

Im not reading this thread, because im sure it will infuriate me and send me into a rage from which i wont be able to recover and will get banned.

I said it last season, i said it preseason, and ill say it again right now. Jenkins is one of my top 3 favorite players on the D and he has beeen since we drafted him. I have his authentic jersey. He was a hell of a corner, and he is a very respectable FS. He has had some beastmode goalline stops this season. With IAQ getting some reps, im hoping he can play a corner coverage roll on a few plays and let IAQ get over the top help.
