Best type of credit card for young professionals?

I'm looking to get my first credit card and don't really know what I should be looking for. I've read good things about a few cards (CapOne Venture Rewards, Chase Sapphire Preferred, AmEx Blue Cash, and AmEx Preferred Cash Rewards), but I don't really know how to evaluate them.
Any help is appreciated.

Young professional is such an over used term.
It's not really an official club so I don't think you're going to get a better card. Just pick out the one that seems best and go with it...
Amex is popular for a lot of people

I used the term to provide some context.

CapOne Venture Rewards
This one gets alot of hype and seems to be a good card.
If you like to travel or will be traveling for work, it might be worth it to get one with your favorite company, such as Delta or Southwest.
I have really liked my Southwest Visa and my Hilton American Express.

I have AMEX Blue Preferred. 6% cash back on groceries, 3% on gas/department store. We take several vacations a year but I am not loyal to any type of hotel brand or airline so that wasn't important to me.

Chase Freedom is great as well. $200 sign up bonus. Zero annual fees. 5% cash back on category purchases each quarter. Gas is usually 2 qtrs out of the 4, which is great for my situation.
Eta: otherwise 1% cash back on all purchases plus a year end dividend based on points accumulated during year.

Depends on how you spend your money.
I use chase freedom for food and penfed for gas 5% back year-round. Both have sign up bonuses.
I also make 1k+ a year just from signing up for credit card bonuses. Credit score has actually risen too

I'm in the same situation. I plan on paying the card off each month. Just need it for emergencies and to help my credit.

Chase Sapphire Preferred
This is what I currently use and have been pleased. Lots of rewards, they had some huge sign up bonuses a while back, not sure if they still do. The card is metal too, so
The new(er) BOA card seems pretty legit as well.
1% cash back on everything
2% on groceries
3% on gas.

There is no correct answer for this.... This is the equivalent of coming here and asking "what is the best car for young professionals?"
You have to decide what perks are important to you and which card would benefit you the most according to where you spend the most of your money

The "young professional" term is stupid.

Depends on your spending habits..how much do you spend/year? Travel?
Which benefits you more:- hotel points/cash back/airline travel miles?
Chase Sapphire Pref is a decent card..I have it and use the points for my United Account. They had (still might have) a 50,000 points promo for applying...$95 annual fee though. Beautiful card!
If you don't want to pay any annual fee, I'd look into getting Amex Blue.

Do you get tired of people telling you how different and heavy the card is? If only I had a dollar for every time I hear that...beautiful card and great customer service.

Sams gas purchases qualify with penfed?

I use this one as well. $75 annual fee but the 6% on groceries and 3% on gas makes up for it tenfold. They also have a decent signup and referral bonus. If you go with this one post your email and I can send you the form. We would each get $75.

Would like to know this as well
I just applied for this card last week, I went with the cash back version instead of the points version
Doesn't get much back on non gas purchases but I have my Amex blue preferred for that anyway
I'll probably use the penfed strictly for gas
