depends who you ask and what you need it for.

If you ask a Yeti Owner of coarse they worth it.
I think they have there place for sure. Just most people don't need a cooler like that for everyday use.

If you are looking to drop that kind of money on cooler also check out Pelican Coolers (lifetime warranty) and Brute.

When I was working in San Antonio outdoors they were more than worth it. I didn't have one because I only packed drinks for myself.

But when you think about buying ice every day versus every 4-5 days or more it was well worth it.

Now, for fishing, I dunno. How long do you need fish to be iced?

yes, i have a 65 qt, love it.
not what your looking for in an everyday beer ice chest, but if you need ice for more than 12 hours, then use this, i have put half a bag of ice on beer, opened it 2 days later and there is still ice

That's what I want it for, keeping deer meat cold at the camp while im there for a week at a time. The closest gas station is 40 minutes away and it gets annoying makin that trip once a day between hunts.

I'm sorry, I just can't bring myself to drop 300 plus for a 50 quart ice chest. But I'm a tightwad!

Then it would probably be a good purchase and good value for you. They work and keep ice for a long time.

I have absolutely no use for a $500 ice chest that can keep ice for in excess of several days because all of my camps have electricity, but know there is a market for them.

The big ones are too freakin heavy.

If you in a place where additional ice ice not available (offshore), they are instrumental. If I'm close to an ice machine or store, I'll pack the igloo.

I have three. If you don't use them often and for extended periods of time then you are a dumbass for spending the money. The weekend warriors should just stick to the normal brands because they are good for weekends. Mine stays in the back of my truck all of the time with ice in it. It is great for that, I couldn't see me buying my first one had I not really needed it. The rest and the fourth that is on order is just because I fell in love with them.

I just got a 65 qt yesterday, but I got a 40% discount. To boot, a sweet trucker hat and several stickers arrived in the chest. I'm going to be so freaking cool.

Half of these dumbasses don't have one and are stupid for having that sticker. I always have mine and the last thing I would want is some jackass having a reason to look in my truck. All the stickers from mine went straight to the trash can, and the trucker hat is somewhere in my closet, along with the tumbler.
