Well guys, i've been doing well since surgery (lost 135 pounds since July), but it looks like i've finally started to get bored with the things i'm eating. Not that i want to eat MORE, just something different, but within my diet, as i will NOT venture out and eat fatty meats.

My protein comes from baked, broiled or grilled poultry, fish, lean pork loin, legumes, and dairy (mainly yogurt and 2% skim cheese. Of course, i also drink protein shakes as a supplement.

MY QUESTION TO YOU FELLOW FOODIES IS THIS: What other lean proteins are out there that i'm missing out on?

What about eggs? Omelets are very versatile.

Otis, forgot to specifically mention eggs in the dairy that i get in, but i do eat egg whites (not the egg beater shite, but an actual egg that i cracked open and removed the yolk). Sometimes i eat a boiled egg as an in-between meal, but again ... just lookin for something new.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

Sirloin. Just because it's red doesn't mean it's bad.

Lean beef(eye of round steaks and lean gound beef 93/7 or 95/5), grass fed beef, shrimp, crabs, crawfish, fish, bison, chicken, protein powders(good changeup to take in something besides just meat), venison, wild hog, wild duck, etc. That is usually what I eat on my diet for lean proteins.

I ate a 4 oz. petite sirloin about a month ago, but i have to be careful with the beef, per my surgeon. Not really a dietary issue as much as a digestive one.

Wheat germ

Vaguely resembles sawdust, but it's not bad in oats, etc.

Understood. I thought you were looking for a tasty alternative to the same old. Best of luck buddy.

He said protein...not carbohydrates. Almond butter is mostly fat...not lean. Bananas, bread and oatmeal are what...10/1 carbs to protein?

I looked at these before, 4 patties totals at a 1/4 pound?!? WTF is 1/16 pound patty going to do anyone? Did I misread the pack?

That IS what i'm looking for, its just that sirloin beef isn't an alternative that i can fit into the regular rotation, that's all.

Thatnks for the suggestion though, dude.
