Chevy Chase, John Candy, Gene Wilder and John Belushi are all better comedic actors than these two.

Richard Pryor

I think Richard Pryor was the funniest comedian of all time when doing stand up, but his acting wasn't quite as great. I'm not saying that I didn't love his movies, and I think his work opposite Gene Wilder was especially great, but I wouldn't put him in the top 5 comedic actors. Truthfully, Gene Wilder was a funnier actor than Pryor.

I'll throw one out that probably won't get mentioned by anyone else, but Tim Conway deserves to be mentioned as an all time great comedic actor!

Yes, he's great. Not sure if top 5 great, but still pretty great.

I guess we're only listing men (actors) and not women (actresses?) If you include women, I'd put Lucille Ball in the top 5.
