re: Friend had a heart attack - doctor says its from testosterone shots - Red Drum
Raises blood pressure and cholesterol, thus your risk of heart attack. Not a substantial risk if you lack other traditional risk factors.. But if you have a family history of coronary artery disease you might not oughta dismiss said risks in favor of aging unnaturally. Your friend signed the waive...

re: What do the medical experts think of "chronic Lyme disease"? - Red Drum
The IDSA guidelines in 2006, the American Academy of Neurology practice parameter in 2007, and the Ad Hoc International Lyme Disease Group in 2007 concluded that currently available evidence does NOT support the hypothesis that persistent infection with B. burgdorferi is the cause of chronic subject...

re: Madison Prep coach arrested. - Red Drum
About 4-5 years ago a young cardiothoracic surgeon in Shreveport did the same thing. Left his baby in the car and went to work. The coroner, who worked at LSUHSC as well, ruled it an accident, and he was never charged. It was negligent, but any sane person would understand his internal punishment ...

re: SC Governor supports removing the Confederate Flag from The Citadel - Red Drum
I hope that's a joke. Its part of the schools history. It's flown in the school. They're not flying it to praise it. They don't pledge to it. ...

re: Fish bone stuck in throat: What to expect at doctor? - Red Drum
i would do that over a primary care doctor.. at least the ent could take a look if they suspect it's there. again though, it doesn't sound like it is. regardless, a primary doc would be a waist of time....

re: Fish bone stuck in throat: What to expect at doctor? - Red Drum
A regular doctors office won't be able to do anything. If it's possibly a small fish bone it's harmless and like Chicken said has most likely already passed and you're feeling the scratch. Bread will dislodge it otherwise. Now more dangerous bones like chicken bones, when they're stuck you know it....

re: All tips on quitting smoking appreciated - Red Drum
Ween but be strict. 1. Take your current # of cigs per day and place in zip lock bag (this is the most important step). 2. Allow yourself that many cigarettes and ONLY that many cigarettes each day for 1 week. Be very strict. Placing the cigarettes in a ziplock bag each morning prevents you from...

re: Places you refuse to shop/eat at because of their views or actions - Red Drum
Walk-On's used to do this on bar tabs on game days. Not sure if they still do. Tipped bartender all night after a home game and then upon closing tab saw the bill with 20% gratuity added. I refused to pay, demanded a manager, he told me to come back Monday, after much bickering he dropped the charge...

re: Where is Gladiator on the all time greats list? - Red Drum
The only thing keeping it out of my top 5 is the action scenes. The battle with the Barbarians at the beginning of the movie was well done. EVERY other fight scene was extremely choppy and not graphic enough in my opinion. I thought the fighting choreography of Troy and Braveheart were both better....

re: The Hateful Eight is the best Tarantino film since Pulp Fiction - Red Drum
The epitome of self indulgence. Sure it had interesting dialogue typical of any Tarantino film but at the expense of acceptable pace. It is ridiculously slow. And, while I admit the title does hint or even concede this, there is no protagonist for the audience to root for, making it extremely anticl...

re: Uber rating system - Red Drum
I've only given 2 drivers less than a 5. One bitched the entire trip about how uber dropped the rate... gave him a 4. The other... this mother fricker... picked me up in a pick up truck with just a jump seat in the back and had no fricking shirt on. In hindsight I should've canceled the trip right th...
