Places to eat in Plaquemine

Okay, so I work over here now and so far my impression is that if it's not brown, fried, or fast food, these people won't eat it.
Suggestions for places to eat lunch would be welcome. Any kind of place, really. Best burger in town? Fried chicken? Pasta?

City cafe is the only place we would go eat on the few days we left the plant.
But that was a decade ago. I assume it's still there.

When I go back home, if my mother isn't cooking, I'm usually going get Toms Seafood's popcorn shrimp platter.
Other than that, there's nothing else I want there. My mom told me it was like a holiday when they opened the little Caesars there recently. That pretty much sums up the food quality there.

City Cafe is in BR now. Mark Maggio opened a little place in a a strip mall next to that truck stop/casino leaving plaquemine. Heard nothing but good things. Benoits has good plate lunches. Toms chinese, so my dad, says is good. He's been @ dow for 30yrs.

Try it while you can. Maggio seems to like opening restaurants, but not running them.

Yeah, it sucks arse out here. I go from being able to hit Albasha, Taste of Asia, China Pearl, South of Philly, Kamado's, Hunan, Waka House, Pocorello's, Mason's Grill, Dempsey's, etc. to this culinary wasteland.
It's literally only four miles away directly across the river, but goddamn it's terrible out here. Absolutely awful.

That's because everyone there can cook well at home. Why go to a restaurant and be disappointed if you can whip up some rice and gravy at home in the same time it takes to go sit at a restaurant. Cheaper too.
