Brian Ware, tiger player from the early 2000's ??? (under Saban) was on sports radio in Mobile today. He knows both Saban and LSU. Said only QBs to beat Saban since the Utah loss in the Sugar Bowl has been Tebow, Cam, Jefferson, and Garcia.....all decent running QBs....said CLM knew that was his only chance, especially after what happened to JL Nov 5. Said everyone knows Lee can't take the pressure. Also said T-Bob got blown up every play Nov 5, so he was not in the game. Said we needed to stretch field and those adjustments were made at half, but JJ couldn't execute and/or line could not hold up. Another adjustment was our FB was split wide in the slot (instead of Sheppard) to confuse Tide D (didn't work). And finally, he indicated that Bama's Defensive calls were all sent from sideline based on our formation....and when we went hurry up, they could not adjust....but we only used it for a few plays (which we did gain a few yards). He was very insightful and in many ways defended CLM....but acknowledged Bama's great D. Our plan was to stop Richardson and make McCarron beat us....he did!

Thank you Brian. Although, that is a pretty accurate/logical take on the game.

Kinda what I thought. Les Miles was boxed in with a horrible QB situation.

Wow. What a terrible analysis.

Garcia is a good runner, therefore we need JJ in the game as our only hope.

A reasonable sound explanation. Probably wasted on these fools.

no, he didn't. Our offense beat us. Make an adjustment the pathetic performance for 3 quarters

Garcia beat Alabama through the Air

T-Bob wasn't even supposed to play Nov 5 because of injury. He suited up and gutted it out when others got hurt.

Regarding Lee and the pressure - that didn't seem to bother him on the road in tough places this year. Or at FLa last year, or against Tenn last year, or in the final minutes of bama last year when he made the biggest completion of the game.

Sums it up.

Also in the grand scheme of thing Miles beat $abun the last 2 times playing to his teams smash mouth run ID. $abun lost doing the same thing. So in the 6 week layoff $abun abandoned his teams ID and became a pass first team.....CLM was not ready for that and it worked.

Miles will get him again next year for 3 outta 4

How was this supposed to confuse them? Maybe like make them fall down laughing: "They've got a fullback at the slot!"

All that sounds good, except for when Bama was just shoving it down our offenses throat, I think LSU should have adjusted by throwing the ball downfield to force the Bama defenders to move the 9 players out of the box. So what if you throw a pick? You weren't moving the ball anyway. I say that about any quarterback that was in the game. And if that quarterback couldn't pass the ball down the field, then try another one. Cause it was painfully obvious by the 2nd quarter that we weren't going to move the ball with the game plan we entered the game with.

Translation: JJ not capable of a hurry up offense, but I'll be damned if I turn to Lee to run it like he did vs Oregon

While it makes sense, at what point do you at least give Lee a chance to make a play? Sure Bama pressures the QB, but is that any different from last year when Lee basically threw the game clinching pass to Randle?

Lee has been disaster against Bama. LM should be criticized for not changing play calling or even not playing Mettenberger but not for not playing Lee.

Lee would shy away from contact. His footwork was horrible. He had a cannon for an arm but that was about it.

BTW neither JJ or Lee ever really had leadership qualities.
