mother fricking bleacher report

meh. is it really still?
Not really. It was pretty dead for most of the Auburn game last weekend.
It's turned into more of a social event. People care more about tailgating and getting drunk than they do about the game. Case in point is the mass exodus that occurs at the end of the 3rd quarter, even in a close game.
It's not just at LSU. It happens all over.

If you rank the stadiums by loudest they have ever been at one time using facts you get:
1) Husky Stadium (Washington)
2) Memorial Stadium (Clemson)
3) Tiger Stadium (LSU)
4) Autzen (Oregon)

As in Nebraska?
I've been there a few times and never found it to be all that loud. However, they are hands down the most cordial bunch in the way their fans treat visiting teams. Nebraska fans will give visiting teams a standing ovation as they leave the field. Also, they don't boo visiting players.
Not sure if it's still that way, but that's what they used to be known for.

Oh, my bad. Clemson's memorial stadium

Husky Stadium
Autzen
The reason these 2 stadiums are so loud is that they have these tin (or steel) roofs over the stands on both sides, and the sound just bounces off the roof and down onto the field. Without the roof, the noise would be average at best.

Never been to Autzen but that's definitely the case at Husky Stadium. When they get that Go Huskies chant going, it's friggin LOUD. But the real measure of loudness is when the visitors have the ball and it's 3rd & 5 on the home team's 40 and they need a field goal to win it. I think that's where our fans have the edge over everybody else. I've seen drives fail in Tiger Stadium just from the noise alone.

As is the case with a lot of stadiums, Vaught–Hemingway Stadium main function was not to retain noise, but still, the Ole Miss faithful do a good job, especially when up against top SEC teams and Mississippi State.
this statement proves that bleacher report knows absolutely nothing about football

only meant to be a fun read...
we could have just as well been ranked 5th, and each post would have read 'WTF... only 5th'
some great aerials of numerous stadiums
