re: LSU prez: We're burning through reserves for medical school - pngtiger on 9/20/17 at 11:24 am
Louisiana actually has 3 medical schools: LSU NO and Shreveport, and Tulane. There still isn't enough doctors to go around, especially in the smaller communities, and especially in north and central La. I get emails all the time about positions there. LSUHSC Shreveport is a separate entity from L...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Can someone explain how charging for ER "facilities" and ER "physician services" works? - pngtiger on 9/8/17 at 7:12 pm
For $1000 a dog can have bladder stones removed, using the same anesthesia, same surgical instruments, performed by a doctor with the same amount of schooling, as a human getting the same procedure that would cost $100,000. Sure, there's a few more variables involved with human medicine... ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)

I have a hotel around Warner Robins from Friday to Tuesday. Supposed to take my boards in Macon on Monday. Have tried 3 times to relocate it, but they won't let me. So...if I'm able to do it, it'll free up that room...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: LSU playing a neutral site game in Nola.. where it should have originally been scheduled - pngtiger on 8/28/17 at 11:17 pm
It's funny how SEC teams think the universe revolves around them, how they will almost never travel outside of the SEC footprint to play OOC games (especially out west or up North or at altitude), play patsies to pad their W-L records and hype up their conference out to be the best through sm...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: How much have your insurance premiums gone up this year? - pngtiger on 7/25/17 at 11:14 pm
I never said providers were just scraping by
Some of them are, that's why we're seeing more becoming hospital employees. I didn't take home a paycheck for half a year because I wasn't making enough to pay overhead and have anything left. And I billed for $1 million during that time...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
Ok... then why is healthcare so expensive?
"Administrative fees", I.e. Hospital administration and compliance with government regulations. JAHCO puts all kinds of regulations on such BS things that have no bearing on patient care, and many times make things worse (you pay more...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

re: Weight loss surgery? - pngtiger on 7/6/17 at 9:56 pm
Don't do the band, or the new mangnetic rings. It's a foreign body that can erode, and if it does, it's a major problem. Also, it's easy to "beat it" by drinking your calories, which many do. It takes adjustments regularly (first to get it just right, almost to obstruction, then more and more as/if ...

Just told my wife about what you said about Simcoe. She said, "so you're telling me he doesn't get killed?" Agree that every season has been better than the last. Abe's temper gets him in trouble, much like Arnold. ...

Turn: Washington's Spies and interesting history - pngtiger on 7/3/17 at 10:27 pm
Been binge watching this show. Have really enjoyed it. As with all "historical" tv series/movies, I research it to see how accurate they are. I came across some interesting info; the great-grandfather of Benedict Arnold had many kids, whose descendants include: George H W, George W, and Jeb Bush ...

re: Laparoscopic Appendectomy - Side Effects and Recovery Time - your experience - pngtiger on 6/30/17 at 6:37 am
It's normal. Usually takes 3-5 days. As long as you're passing gas you're fine. And it sounds like you're on the normal course for pain. Day after you usually feel like you got run over. By day 3 or 4, you feel like you can get back to normal stuff, but tire easily ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)

They're kind of meh. Fireworks were cool. Year I went, we caught the teams intro, the smash mouth started to play so we left. Went to a bar across the street, saw a guy wearing a 1987 Nebraska sugar bowl shirt. I said yo him y'all killed us that game, that was my first bowl game with my dad. We ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
quote: its not just that. in some European countries MDs do not have any college debt when they start practice.
