It has shown that it doesnt work with the exigencies of a big time game, tv timeouts, real officiating crew, etc... deeply affects their "blur" system. so who cares, quit talking all this shite about some gimmick, and play the fricking game already,

ps. just found out i am going!

Their offense is the real thing. They don't have the size so they use speed and tempo to their advantage.

So you think the officials run out and stop the play for a commercial when UO is trying to play hurry up?

They lost by a last second field goal, and their RB was a heisman finalist

Stop posting. You make the fanbase look much more stupid than it actually is

Yes the Blur at which they play does give them a huge advantage for teams not conditioned for it. SEE TENN. first half compared to second half. But they are still very talented and have smart offensive coaching.

I love the "Oh, this system will never work!" conspiracy theorists guys. They say the same shite about Malzahn. "Oh his offense would never work in the SEC!!"

Jesus.

TV timeouts aren't really going to throw off their timing. If you want to throw off Oregon's timing, you will need a strong defense that can quickly penetrate their line.

Even then, they still have plays where they can suck a defense in and make them pay for over-aggressiveness: this is my main concern. They also run shovel passes, draws, screens and throwbacks as good as any team in the country.

Oregon lost their last huge televised game to an SEC team and they should be especially motivated for our game.

being off 5 weeks gave both teams ample time to prepare for their offenses. Oregon and Auburn were both offensive teams. Fairley was the difference. Look at how many times auburn gave up lots of points. Secondary was pitiful. We lost to Auburn because we couldn't find our offense. I don't like for the teams to have so long to prepare. It makes games that wouldn't normally be close, become tight games.

Well faking injuries seemed to work for Cal. They almost beat 'em!

How do you know they were fake? That's the beauty of it. I hope our Dline watches that game film. Maybe they should take some summer acting classes.

Fairley was the difference, per se, but in reality, any defense with interior lineman who can penetrate quickly & pressure the interior off the snap are going to be successful against an option-based offense.

Look at how we destroyed GT's Triple Option in 2008? Granted, Oregon's more exotic & way more balanced, and they run their midline options out of a Spread set, as well as at a much higher tempo.

But, the play is blown up from the inside out. You create penetration consistently? Game over.

Fairley was the perfect storm for Oregon's offense. They made a galatically stupid decision to leave him uncovered, which added to the "Is Chip Kelly on the take?" theory I had during the actual game.

But, their passing offense is rather ordinary. Yes, Thomas threw for 330+, but Auburn's secondary compared to LSU's secondary is like taking a Sunday Drive down the PCH versus taking a Sunday Drive down beautiful, scenic Highway 1 from Port Allen all the way past White Castle.
