You should be proud of what you accomplished last year even though I don't believe for a second Oregon was one of the two best teams in the nation. Great season Ducks.

With all due respect, who would you had play Auburn for the title game. Not looking in hindsight that UO lost. But if you were president of the NCAA before the title game? Who was more worthy?

And secondly, after knowing the results of the title game. Do you not think AU was the best last year? And if so, how can the team who was tied with them with 2 seconds to go and only lost by a game winning FG, not be close to them? What. Are you going to suggest TCU? The same TCU who struggled against lesser foes. The same TCU team who beat Wisky too closely? Heck, ASU almost beat Wisky at Wiskies house. If you watched that game they easily dominated and should of won. They only lost cause a kick was blocked at the end, and lost by 1 point. And ASU did not make a bowl game last year in the PAC. Wisky was a little over-rated. TCU was good, no doubt, but great? And who did they play for you to think they were great? Please tell me your not suggesting TCU. And if not, then who were the 2 best teams. And please do not say Auburn and Bama, lol.

With the way the BCS is setup Oregon was the best choice to play Auburn. I didn't challenge your right to play in the game under the current criteria for determining the teams. I merely stated I didn't believe Oregon was one of the two best teams in the country.

I would have bet the house Oregon/Bama would have produced the same result as Oregon/Auburn.

I don't think anyone would say Bama was a top 2 team last year. Hell they really weren't even top 5.

Do I think the NC game was a lot closer because the teams were pretty similar and they both had a long time to prepare. We're they the two best teams last year? I don't know...possibly, but I could argue that a few teams with some losses could have or should have beat either team.

They were both diserving to be there though.

I think the title game was spot on, two powers from a major conference, undefeated teams. I don't know that you could justify anyone else making it in.

Hell you had alot of people around here rooting for UO because they didn't want to see Auburn win a NC.

they came closer than most teams last year to beating Auburn, don't underestimate their potential or the tempo in an air conditioned dome.

Sir, I respect your opinion. You never said who the two best teams were in your view. And if you would say TCU, I will not beat you up over it. Heck, many voters thought so and gave them #2, we only got ranked #3. But speak out, who do you think was the two best last year? And so? (and by the way if you say TCU- as they were the only other undefeated team was, that's fine with me. I think they played in a super weak Conference compared to the big boys. And we will never know if UO or AU was better then them until they played or got a playoff or such. )

You will recall that Chip Kelly is 22-4. They scored 182 points against 6 ranked opponents in 2010, winning 3 out of those 5 contests. While they lost to Boise State (in their opener on the road) 19-8 and to tOhio State (home of the Tat-5) in the Rose Bowl 26-17, they scored 42 points in their only other loss, which was to (at the time unranked) Stanford.

They CRUSHED then #6 Cal 42-3, roughed up the Trojans (then #4) 47-20, and survived a shootout in the Civil War 37-33 (with Oregon State then at #13), albeit those wins were all in Eugene.

They did not play nearly as well on the road than at home, but their offense averaged 4 1/2 TDs against their all opponents (without checking for defensive/ST touchdowns).

From where I sit, the Oregon offense doesn't have anything to prove - the LSU offense does.

(ETA: and overall, Oregon played Auburn better than we did, though Oregon's offense sputtered some)

I thought Auburn was the best team in the nation in 2010. What comes after that is little more than unsubstantiated subjective opinion. I don't think Oregon could have beaten Alabama or LSU but that doesn't mean the Ducks didn't deserve to play for the NC because under the guidelines in place you clearly earned the game.

Ace Midnight Oregon did play Auburn better than we did with over a month "5 weeks" to prepare at a neutral site! Also Cam did look the same as he did all year. I don't know if he was trying to prove he could pass and not just run for the NFL, because he did not use the same offense. We may have had 2 weeks at most because of maybe focusing on Auburn and not the MIGHTY Mcneese! LOL

We had 2 more teams from the SEC WEST that could have played and won. Now a 10 out of 10 best would be close I'm sure. Heck Arkansas would have been a good one too if they could handle the national pressure. It is crazy how they crapped the bed with OHIO. They could have easily won that game.

It's amusing to hear LSU fans say they were rooting for Oregon against Auburn. I will have to admit LSU has always been one of my favorite teams and would cheer you on against almost anyone except us. Serious. It's just too bad you have to take this Oregon loss next year. We might actually play for the NC the year after that.

tOSU was bludgeoning Arky before they took some injuries in their secondary. Arky was getting beat, had to come back and fell short.

Also, Oregon and Auburn had the same condition sets for that game. Oregon also came out with an entirely different package to begin the game.

Cam wasn't himself for a very good reason - Kenny Rowe fricked him up. Every team had a chance to do the same but didn't.
