BSU also has the luxury of only preparing for one or two decent games a year. Their conference schedule against a lot of creampuffs is laughable. I'm not as sold on the excellence of their players as I am on their excellence in preparing for those few big games.

In my opinion they are one of the dirtiest playing teams we have ever played. Spearing QBs seconds after the ball is thrown. Punching in pileups.(we punch after the game, haha. of course taunting does cause reactions) All that cheezy small time crap. Their fans think they walk on water. I just tell them it isn't water, I just pissed on their shoes. I guess I don't like them much. If UGA can humble them, I am happy.

Moore is really good. I'll give them that.

See that's what I've been thinking. They prepare like hell for the few games they do play and walk over the rest. They play most of their good teams while in the middle of the season or at the start of the season. Either way it helps them. If they had UGA, UO, VT, and then say Iowa they would maybe win two games? No way they win 4 in a row, and I don't think they would even win 3 of those.

Cajun Football,
What I hear from most UO fans is that Boise State, I mean Girlse State would be middle of the PAC10 if they played one of our schedules. Depth quality counts. PAC12 now.

They are also butthurt because they didn't get asked to join when Utah and Colorado did get asked. BSU isn't a research school and doesn't have the facilities so they weren't even considered. They were already to go to the Rose Bowl and didn't get invited to the conference. I'm shedding a tear now... laughing too hard I guess.

So they weren't allowed in the conference based upon their research capabilities?

Also, when do Utah and Colorado join the conference? Can't wait to see how this effects the balance.

Oregon must be respected, respected, respected. Coach Miles knows it and will have our team as ready as it can be, which is almost always overwhelming under Miles when he has time to prepare. See the stats below.

The game is going to be the most hyped opening game in history. You can bet it is going to be on ESPN Game Day.

Here are the relative stats from the Oregon-Auburn game:

Here are the relative stats from the LSU-Ohio State game: LINK

Not much difference except in scores and turnovers. We are lucky to have Coach Miles.

The PAC10 Presidents are sort of snooty and Boise just didn't cut it. BSU must offer doctorates, but I'm not sure if anyone else recognizes doctorates in potato peeling.

This will be the most hyped opening game ever. If in reality one or both teams weren't really top 10 material, ABC/ESPN would boost them until they were. They will have an audience nationwide. I just hope we both have decent games so no one else will think they have a chance when playing us.

It is on ESPN Game Day, that was announced.

What would really make this great is if both teams win out and get a rematch for a NC. However, I doubt the voters put them back together.

Question for LSU fans: Lets just assume the rankings hold pre-season where ESPN put them with UO at #3, and LSU #4. Lets not debate about that right now. Just assuming those rankings hold pre-season, will that make it that Oregon was the highest team you have ever faced to start off a season? Thus, is it the biggest game you can ever remember to start off the season for LSU in your history? Just curious.

I cannot remember if Michigan was our first game of the season or second or such, but one year we faced a very high ranked Michigan at #3 before, a few years back. I know for sure I saw they were #3 UM was. I am guessing that was their ranking at the game time and not how UM ended the season. So if the preseason rankings hold, this will be close, but not be our biggest game to start a year off for us.

And I am not joking about us being 30 percent improved all around then 2009.

While the offense clicked in 2010, I thought your opposition was tougher in 2009 - at least on paper. I thought 2010 spoke for itself (and I see I mistyped the year for the 2009 analysis) - with really only the Cal and Auburn games causing any concern (Take those two games out and ya'll averaged, what 52 1/2 a game?)

We tied #1 Nebraska 6-6 in Tiger Stadium to open the season in 1976. It would take another 21 years before we defeated a #1 team.

(ETA: On September 11, 1976)

BSU didn't qualify academically for the PAC-12, due to the lack of status as a "Research University".

And before some BSU fan gets cranky about that, they've known for years that this would be an issue if they ever wanted to join the PAC-10/12. They haven't invested in their university sufficiently to become a member. This is a BSU problem not a PAC-12 problem.

This is the prevalent wisdom on the street. However BSU is already a member of the PAC-10 for Wrestling and I think one other sport, not sure. I actually heard BSU was not admitted into the PAC-12 because the BSU AD ticked off the UO AD with some words he said to him after the UO AD called and inquired why the guy who taunted Blunt never got punished and only Blount did. And because of that, UO completely vetoed BSU even being in consideration. Remember, it was a UO booster who would later loan Scott his private Jet to go fish for Texas and the others. UO had and has a lot of clout in the PAC. I heard from a inside source that UO alone blocked BSU becoming a member due to some nasty comments their administration said to ours. Anyways... Who cares, its BSU.

I thought the idea of a BCS winner was not to find out who the best two teams are, but the top team is.

That's as good a way of describing the BCS process as any I've heard. Although I stated I felt Bama and LSU could have beaten Oregon I do not for a second believe either deserved the opportunity to play for the NC more than Oregon. This was your game and you earned it. I just wish you had beaten the Barners.

For the few lucky souls when you go to Dallas; Bring binoculars or find seats right behind our cheerleaders cause you are in for a treat! We heard that over and over by Tenn fans last year who could not keep their eyes off our girls.

And btw, I would like to boast on them that they are all native Oregonians, but sadly they are not. Most of them are from Cali. But probably, that's why they are so hot!

I am however trying hard to come up with a cleaver strategy to beat LSU and get use of our cheerleaders that way. I think if we have them work their way down to the LSU sideline and do a strip tease or such perhaps Les Miles and the other coaches and players will loose concentration off the game and get distracted by our ladies. If so, perhaps this is what we would see... LINK and his eyes might be totally off the game and on our ladies the whole time doing this! lol
