first trip there for both of us. I know all of the must see things to do and see, but I need some opinions on the best places to eat. I should be there for four or five days.

I'm thinking a famous eatery or two, a real nice place, a good pizza joint, and a deli.

Staying on TimesSquare. Thanks in advance.

You don't have enough time to get reservations at a nice place..

And don't spend more than 2 minutes in time square

Eh, I dunno. It's pretty cool, if its your first time. Good place to stay, centrally located....

I'm sure hotels are high there... Not worth it IMO.

Time Square is going to be a bitch to get out of. Most touristy things are within walking distance of Time Square, as is Central Park (which is good for you because getting a cab in Time Square is nearly impossible).

Go to Lombardi's Pizzeria while you're there. You can take the Subway up to just a few blocks from it. Very very good.

Yeah, definitely high. Probably not worth it, but a cool place to stay.

It's worth it for being in such a central location with all the big touristy stuff around you. The weekends are an absolute bitch though, being that the place just gets overrun with massive crowds and is nearly impossible to navigate.

My first ever ride on it I experienced a homeless guy licking a piece of gum someone had left on one of those poles you hang on to when standing. After that I was sure to never touch one of those poles, and just be sure to keep my balance.

Yep. It's terrible. But everyone should see it.

Also, Time Square pretty much has a 5:1 civilian to cop ratio. You'll be shocked at the number of cops they stick in that small area. Especially on weekends, so you'll feel and be very safe in that area (which is another plus for staying in Tiem Square).

I took an express train to Harlem by mistake(which isn't a big deal it's not like a warzone) I was scared at the time.. Turns out I got to my stop faster going that way and passing up my stop turning around and coming back than taking a local train.

Definitely. Except the smell of piss gets pretty bad in the lesser used station.

Take the Staten Island ferry instead of a tour, It used to be only a couple of bucks. There is a great steak house across the street from the Garden, GREAT Steak ! Forgot the name, maybe Peter Lugers? Not sure. Go to the ticket exchange in Times Square for tickets to a play, always good seats.
