Dinner in New Orleans

Dining in New Orleans Monday night, and I'm stressing over where to eat. Too much to choose from! Looking for good atmosphere/decor, classic NOLA dishes, and good service. I've narrowed it down to about 5 places, but I'm just not sure...can somebody help sway me here?

If you're choosing strictly from that list, then I'd go with Jacque Imo's. Tell Debra behind the bar I said hello!

Staying right on the street car line in the Garden District, bee.

Jacque Imo's is one of my favorite places in N.O.

Try the jambalaya at The Old Coffee Pot restaurant on St. Peter. It's money.

gotcha, well any of those work. if you go to the quarter though, I would definitely take K Paul's and Muriel's over Palace Cafe and Olivier's

Out of your list, I would pick K-Paul's. I'm a Muriel's fan, but I wouldn't describe it as having classic New Orleans dishes. I don't even think of K-Paul's as classic New Orleans. It leans more towards "inventive and classic Cajun" to me.
For classic New Orleans dishes, I think of Galatoire's, Arnaud's, Antoine's, Bon Ton and even Mandina's of the top of my head.

Did someone mention Comman

It is getting a little old.

I don't find their menu fits "classic New Orleans" any longer. I remember always being able to order trout amandine or meuniere there, for lunch. I haven't seen anything remotely resembling that type of fare on a menu there post Katrina, at least.
I think it qualifies as a New Orleans "grande dame" restaurant, but the food isn't "classic New Orleans" any longer for the most part. They still offer turtle soup and gumbo.

All good choices. Muriel's and K-Pauls are some of my favorites in the quarter, but Arnaunds and Antoine's (both pricey) have more classic NOLA dishes.
Commander's is a great place if you've never been, but the food at Palace Cafe is similar and less expensive. Though the atmosphere isn't as nice.
Really you can't go wrong with any of them.
That said, I still can't believe I've never been to Jacque Imo's. Was supposed to go a couple of times but it fell through, may go in a few weeks.
