oil her up, wipe it dry and cook on high heat until the fire department shows up from all the smoke.

Or so I think I have read on here.

"You can scrub any spots that have rusted or been damaged with sandpaper and then coat pan in oil and place in 300 degree oven for 3 hours. Try that first.

And in the name of all that is good and holy, do it outside.

First, you can try to scrape off whatever crud you can and hit it with a wire brush, if necessary.

if you want a reason to drink beer outside for a couple hours..... we usually get a few pots together clean em real well and build a fire. Good reason to get the guys together. If you boil salt water in it prior to burning it will get all the impurities and shite off the pot. cover with lard or oil and throw it in the fire, well set it in the fire.

Once...then fry something in it for good measure and it'll be good to go.

I usually buy three packs of bacon and cook it for friends, family, and neighbors.

I keep the the fat, clean the pan well with water, then coat the entire pan with the fat, stick in 300 degrees oven and forget about it.

Cover with bacon fat and stick it in your bbq pit if you can. I will never do it inside again.

yeh, never do this shite inside... it'll make your whole place smell. Oh, and do not fry fish as the first thing you fry. Go by some cut up chicken and some lard and get your cholesterol up a couple points!
