TAMU Midnight Yell Practice
Thursday, January 6
12:00 a.m.
In the Fort Worth Stockyards – East end of Exchange Avenue by Stockyard Station

Thought the LSU fans would like to know this. The TAMU folks have set up a nice website for their fans with all sorts of information. It appears they are pushing their folks to the Forth Worth area. Anyway, it night be fun to show up in P&G at the Yell Practice.

Yeah...that would be about as f*cked up as a group of Jahovah's witnessess with bibles getting off a bus in Miram Shah, Pakistan. I'm just sayin'...

It's Fort Worth, not Orlando, Miami, New Orleans or Phoenix...not exactly "neutral" territory, ya know?

It's not unusual for opposing fans to show up at Yell Practice. It's not a secret.

These are some Nebraska fans at Yell Practice before last year's game:

We usually have opposing fans in the stands - no biggie. Texas Tech fans sometimes bring newspapers and read them with their backs turned to the field.

Y'all are welcome to show up.

Observe, or even participate. I've had opposing fans join in on the yells at Midnight Yell before and they enjoyed themselves.

We hear you Texicans pack a mini armory of guns and just wait around for an outsider to say somethin' bad about your Ma, truck, dog or school so you can plug 'em. No jury in Tejas will ever convict a Texican for shooting someone for badmouthing their Ma, truck, dog or school.

And Nebraska fans? Nebraska is where all the people who can't score above 15 on the ACT go to learn how to hotwire John Deere tractors and combines, ain't it?

I never personally attended but back when we would play regular season games at College-Station some of my friends went to Yell Practice. Said it was a good time.

Seems like a pretty awesome way to mock your stupid tradition

Cuz their Texas Mamas "tanned their butts" for yelling when they were growing up.

In Louisiana, yelling is just another form of communication and used as a sonic weapon by LSU faithful in Tiger Stadium. I've been to a couple games at Kyle Field. It gets about as loud as an NSU game at Rags Turpin stadium. The Aggies can use the yell practice.

To make things sportsman-like and even, LSU fans should be nice enough to allow the Aggies to have microphones during the game.

Why the hell would we want to show up at their Yell Practice?

1. I'd rather be at a bar... enjoying our LSU fans.

2. I'd rather not be around a large group of Aggies.

3. I'd rather not show up with the sole intention of pissing off a large number of Aggies. Kind of makes you look like a trouble-making biatch.

Aggies practice yelling? Really....shakes head

(some) LSU fans practice tailgating.

I wonder which one requires more practice.

Yell practice is a good time for Aggies, but I wouldn't drive all the way over to Fort Worth to see it if I was a Tiger fan.

Now, in '94, when we played at Baton Rouge and all the Aggies spent Friday night in New Orleans (like tourists, I know) then that yell practice in the French Quarter was a hell of a good time. No way a Fort Worth yell practice is as good as that one.

As far as the whole Yell Leader / Gay thing goes, I think the effeminateness is a factor of the sororities voting "pretty boys" into the position (Yell leaders are elected by the student body).

When I was in school, Yell Leaders were Cprps guys on their way to becoming men, not "pretty boys."

I lived in the dorm next to 4 yell leaders: one roughnecked during the summer, one worked on a ranch, and two disappeared to Ft. Benning and elsewhere and came back with Jump Wings and a Ranger Tab. One of those guys ended up wearing a Green Beret for a living, so definitely no case of the "ghey" there ...

I guess I'm just an old fart
