I'm not the only one who pokes fun at the TAMU and their cult like traditions. Pretty much the whole country scratches their head in awe at the A&M fanbase and traditions.

Dude, you're making it worse.

It's facts. What else am I supposed to say? You attended A&M, have to deal with who we are. Yell practice is just that, a practice for the yells on gameday.

Living up north, most people I've talked to about it, if not all, like our traditions or at the very least appreciate them for their worth (Then again, the Big Ten loves tradition in general). I had my Aggie gear on at a Michigan bar before the UM/OSU game and a lot of people said something to that effect (having just watched the Nebraska game).

I was actually just watching this video and befitting is the first comment: "I'm a die-hard Florida fan, but I have to admit that Texas A&M has some of the coolest fans in college football."

Most people who hate our traditions tend to be our rivals.

IT'S THE INTERNET! THERE IS NO ROOM TO RELAX.

For real though, I just saw irony in the original post. Moving on.

Are you serious? You don't have to explain to us what it is. We all know...and we think its the faggiest thing in college football.

Cheer practice....sheesh

Oh jeez, you guys. Seriously, it's just a tradition. It's fun to get together, especially before a big game, and get pumped up for the game. For alumni, it's fun to do something you did as a student. You can go barhoppign with Aggies the rest of the night - 20-30 minutes is no big loss.

Other teams do similar stuff. Oregon had that pep rally that someone linked to. Texas always has a Hex Rally before the A&M game to put a "curse" on us. It's part of what makes college football special. Speaking of cults:

Most LSU fans are just giving you ags a hard time, we understand the tradition.

I tell people all the time that I'm in a cult.

Some people take things too seriously.

I can understand why you guys make fun. It's really silly if you think about it but it's also fun.

I meant no offense, but I think we tend to oversell the minute details of our traditions and people find it preachy and weird. To outsiders I describe yell as a celebration we have on game weekends. It's fun. Come get drunk and join us. They'll have a good time and if they want to know what all the details are, then tell them. Just my two cents.

College football is outright silly. None of us have anything to do with the success or failure of the teams, and many of us didn't even go to the school we root for (not bashing that), but we show up nearly a hundred thousand in force every weekend wearing our colors (sometimes in a ridiculous manner like body paint or corncob helmets) to cheer on complete strangers that we somehow feel connected to on the basis that we paid, along with thousands of others, to attend to the same institution (or we "just always liked the team growing up!"). Then we use the win/loss records of the teams to put down other fans, who also have no legitimate ties, in an act of weird ritualistic superiority.

Nevermind the people that follow the tweets and facebook postings of 15, 16, and 17 year old kids, trying to see if a coach they've never met can convince some kid they've never met to play on their team - and if they do, they rub it in the faces of other fans....as if any fans on either side have anything to do with the outcome.

It's tribalism at its best and I love it all! Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta go follow some kid's twitter - he might be signing with A&M!

good job lsu people for getting under the skin of some of the aggies who aren't that tough

i speak for the students at a&m who dont have a stick up their arse. yell practice is fun, and is a tradition, and if you wanna see what it actually is, then come out.

and to all the other aggies here, most just want to make fun of our traditions just like we do to other schools. its going to happen, so stop being whiny babies and just accept the fact that people are going to joke about it. that's just college sports, and if you can't handle it, then i suggest you don't post anymore on here. you know you're going to get made fun of on the opposing teams forum, so why try to plead your case?

oh and one more note, the person on the first page that said something about nebraska and getting a 15 on the ACT, well, i don't think people that go to lsu have much room to talk there...

So what you ags are trying to say, excuse me yell, is don't knock it until you tried it. Why can't you have a girl yell leader. Just one. Look, she could be a dike, okay.
Do like the 12th man thing, thats cool.

Who's whining? I don't see any namecalling or insults against LSU except for yours. Just a friendly chat going on here.

I been here a month so far. These kitties don't scare me!

(plus as I've stated, my brother is at LSU. Nothing but love for these guys, except for on gameday).
