Seriously though, I've never seen a fanbase try to insult our intelligence as much as aTm

So what you ags are trying to say, excuse me yell, is don't knock it until you tried it. Why can't you have a girl yell leader. Just one. Look, she could be a dike, okay.

A&M is pretty tradition-happy and the Yell Leaders go back to when it was an all-dude school so probably ain't gonna happen but who knows. I do wish we could go back to the days when YL were more drill sergeant, less "you touch my tralala."

but I think we tend to oversell the minute details of our traditions and people find it preachy and weird

Understatement of the freaking century.

I moved to the US in 99 and my first assignment involved working with a couple of aggies and a couple of UT dudes. It took me about 2 days to reach the cult conclusion.

From some Fish camp thing, whooping restrictions, to yell practice....

lsu and a&m do not have the same admission standards
if you want, you can go to collegeboard.com and see that a&m has a smaller percent of applicants admitted, requires more high school credits, and has higher average scores on all sections of the SAT and ACT. so you who posted that, check your facts before you let your mouth run

and maybe whiny was not the correct word to use there, sorry for that. but why get so defensive and act like people should be on your side when they clearly are not going to be since you are posting on an opposing school's forum

I find this second paragraph so ironic in light of the first one...

And I was answering people's direct questions. It's called a conversation...never would expect them to agree with me but I'm just chatting with them in good fun. Like I said, I never got angry or started insulting people. Geez.

Also, it's really dickish to come on this board and start insulting the fanbase. And considering I have a brother at LSU, I find it personally insulting. Football or football tradition smacktalk on a football board is one thing...ah well whatever floats your boat.

lsu fans: here is your entertainment
a smart aggie MAN trying to explain to an aggie WOMAN about how dumb she is being, and like most women, she is too blind and bitchy to realize it

1. sorry for not being an english major and not using the correct word, i guess im in engineering for a reason

2. using words like "jeez" and really trying to hammer home how awesome of a tradition it is obviously shows your frustration here. us aggies think it is awesome, other fans think its cool in the aspect of unity, but thoroughly enjoy mocking it, get that through your thick skull

3. i was not attempting at insulting this fan base, i was stating facts that needed to be cleared up

4. ok, we know you have a brother that goes to lsu, you don't have to tell us that every single time you post. how would you like it if i said "wait, it's ok, people here should like me because i have a cousin that goes here, oh and i have friends that do, too!"

You don't speak on the behalf of any A&M student outside of yourself. Who in their right mind would go on an opponents forum to talk trash about their own fan base?

Also, find the shift key and this (') grammatical symbol. It will help in making you appear like you made it through a 5th grade writing class.

25% of your, potential, engineering career will be spent writing. Grammar would be a worthy investment on your part.

While I'm not embarrassed by the tralala video (I personally thought it was pretty funny) the manner in which Yell Leaders has changed a bit over time. Used to be a last man standing after a brawl method and is now by popular vote.

And girls can actually run for Yell Leader. One did while I was a student, but I think she managed about a dozen votes.

I don't know this aggiegirl2005, but I'm kinda starting to like her. She's also making a good effort to create some goodwill between our opposing fanbases, and I imagine she's developing a nice tiger-following on here. Not only are the tigers on here likely to think you're a jackface, but the rest of us Ags aren't going to be very appreciative of tearing down what we're building.

edit: message intended for aggiepk13, not whoever I was quoting.

Yeah makes sense that a public university won't restrict women from running for it. I'm not sure if we'll ever see traditional cheerleaders at games though, although I heard a lot of push for it when I was in UG.

Ignore that guy. He does sound like an a-hole. Of course, my opinion is probably moot because I'm a woman and not an engineer.

Eh, doesn't bother me...doesn't really hurt my feelings when random internet guy calls me "dumb." He has no idea what I majored in, what my grades were, or how many graduate degrees hang on my wall so I'm just here to talk football dammit!
