Personally, almost nothing bothers me as much as not having enough courtesy or respect to not burn the two calories it takes to remove your cover.

Several Tiger and Rebel fans around me yesterday did not do so. I exchanged words with one of them during halftime but nothing came of it.

So tell me Rantards, is it still mandatory to remove them or am I clinging to some old-school shite my pops taught me?

Everyone has a right to do what they want. I think you should remove your hat.

I think you should remove your hat, but I wouldn't say anything to someone who didn't...

that's the beauty of living in america...if you dont want to remove your hat you dont have to, freedom is a good thing...its just a shame they dont respect it.

Some people wear hats because they are self conscious about their hair (or lack thereof). So it'd be more of an insecurity thing than lack of respect. I'd suggest removing the stick from your arse and enjoy the win.

Anyone that has served this country and doesn't want to remove his hat gets a pass. Everyone else should take the hat off out of respect.

This...and place the hat over your heart during the anthem. To do less shows poor breading and/or upbringing.

I really don't know why events like this even have the national anthem...And although I remove my hat, I don't really get the symbolism of it.

As a veteran I think its shows disrespect.....having said that... We served so people could be free, to be obnoxious.

FWIW, if I was wearing a hat, I would remove it ... not out of respect, but just because people like you would make a big deal of it if I did not remove it. It's the honest truth.

I don't understand what taking a cap off has to do with anything. How wearing a cap makes you unAmerican is beyond me.

Are we talking about a baseball cap here?

Spitting in someone's face is disrespectful. Tripping an old lady is disrespectful. Talking on a cell phone during someone's speech is disrespectful. Wearing a cap during a song is disrespectful? I think not. Some traditions we have in this country are silly IMO.

I don't care if it's cold, raining, snowing, hailing, or if volcanic ash is falling or birds are shitting: Remove the hats...period, end of story. Anything less is disrespectful during the playing of our National Anthem.

People should have been taught from the first sporting event they go to as a youngster that that is the ONE thing that is constant and unchanging. When I'm drunk and people around me don't take their hats off I say something, and they remove it. When I'm not drunk I don't bother because I'm not a confrontational person, but it still pisses me off to no end. Most of the time it's people who just plain forget (somehow), they're not doing it as some grand political statement, so they don't mind that I say something.

Uhhh...trust me, the ones that don't remove their caps have never served this country.

To a man, you will never find one who has served this country NOT remove his hat. Ever.
