Yes, but a totally correct and fully free American a-hole.

Ah, name calling, the last defense of someone who's lost an argument...

That's funny. Yeah would ya? I mean even if it's being hummed, it is the national anthem.

Ok, good.

Now, let's say you've had recent skin graft to your scalp, and have been instructed by your physician to wear a specialized hat for protection. He tells you that you are NOT, under any circumstances, to expose your scalp to light.

If you're walking down the sidewalk one radiant day, and someone next to you starts humming the national anthem, would you take your hat off?

Then you shouldn't be surprised when some old guy knocks the hat off your head for being a dick.

I wouldn't be, And the old guy shouldn't be surprised when I have him removed from the stadium.

So far, I'm not hearing any actual argument from you people as to why I'm wrong about this. Just some name calling and weak-arse responses about patriotism.

You are so full of shite.

They did no such thing. They died for your freedoms and liberties, but not for you to disrespect this country. Yeah, you have the right to be a terd. Does that mean you should?

Don't use our soldiers and forefathers as an excuse for your piss poor human behavior. That's more a blot upon your parents and your own selfishness than any other factor.

Yes! Agree with me or get out! USA! USA! USA!

Boy are you in the wrong country. There are some places in the world where you everyone has to be patriotic and pray to the same God or else. Maybe you would feel more at home there. I have a map you can borrow.

All the reasoning of an infant to equate holding people to an acceptable set of norms and values, and manners to a nazi, just because they don't say "Green Light Go" to your actions or inactions in this instance.

Agreed, the casual throwing around of the word "nazi" needs to stop.

Its disrespectul - that is your answer. If you don't want to honor our American traditions, then just shut up and don't say anything. If you push people and try to rub your anti-American beliefs in their face, someone one will eventually stomp your arse in the dirt long before security can get there to rescue your sorry arse.

You have the right to keep your hat on and do whatever you want to do, I agree with you on that.

But what you, and people like you, fail so miserbaly to understand is that just like you have the right to disagree with someone's point of view or opinion, they have the same right to disagree with your's.

Simple question: Is public dissent not one of these traditions?

If you answer yes, then you are completely wrong in this argument.

Really??? Ignorant huh?

Let's see...

"Hey Joe, what ya fighting for?"

"Well, I'm fighting for all the terd heads in the future to act like a bunch of spoiled rotten shitheads so that they can disrespect this country and flag."

"Oh, very admirable Joe... And here I was thinking you were trying to protect this country from those who were intent on doing her harm. Shows you how much I know."

You're absurd.

how is taking your hat off a "value"? It's a tradition that has very little basis in it's symbolism. Should the band remove their head-gear while playing the anthem?

To me these traditions, including saying the pledge at different functions, are just symbols of being good little citizens who stay in line and keep quiet.

Nowhere did I say that you do not have the right to disagree. The problem is that I'm not being afforded the same courtesy, and it sounds like most on here who are touting freedom would not afford those who keep their hats on at games the same courtesy. Lots of hypocrites here.
