The weight increase from last week is already gone. Hopefully by next week I'll be in the 250's...we shall see.

Motto for the day: Doldil wobbles but he don't fall down. (thanks squats)

Yeah, so I'm actually above my previous high. I guess I have to change the first number now. I'm trying to get back on the wagon. I know a big thing will be to start posting back in here.

I can't seem to get past 265

Disappointed in my workout today. Supposed to be leg day but my knees did not want to cooperate... Sometimes the cartilage in my knees gets inflamed and hurts really bad, lots of clicking and popping and pain. Apparently today my knees decided they wanted to flare up. Tried a set of squats and after the first 2, nope nope nope. Tried leg press, got 2 sets done and then nope nope nope.. so I hit the elliptical for 10 minutes and then decided to just do some upper body stuff.

I think I'm gonna start hitting the track for sprints in the evening, stay an hour and alternate between sprints, jogs, and a walk

Anyone here invested in a pullup bar? Just bought on last week. Goal is 20-25 full hang, slow good form pullups by years end. Also 100 nonstop pushups.

and the scale has me up a pound from yesterday...gotta love that bouncing up and down crap.

Hulk...I feel ya on the knees man. Part of the reason I had to take a break from the gym after my 6 month streak was b/c of knee pain. I thought it would go away and didn't...going up and down stairs or squatting would cause grinding in my knees (not just popping) and it had me really worried. I went to the orthopedist and he basically told me that I had no cartilage left in my left knee. It has got much better since losing the 50 pounds I've lost, but that grinding is still there, but not nearly as bad and not painful anymore. Nothing like being big your entire life and hearing a doc say you've essentially got arthritis in your knee at 30 years old.

heck I'm almost 25 and my doc told me that if I don't take care of my knees this problem of flaring up could turn into full blown arthritis. So I know what you mean. I've pushed myself beyond the pain when they've flared up before but it's just not worth it because the pain goes from lasting maybe a week to lasting several weeks. I can walk or even run without pain, but squatting, going up stairs, or sitting from a standing position or standing from a seated position hurts like hell. So when this happens I usually refrain doing anything taxing to my knees and pop a lot of NSAIDs. I have Celebrex on hand at all times because of it, if I run out and I'm having pain I just go back to the doctor.

Hovering around the same for a few days. Maybe those cookies last night weren't the best idea. Oh and hello tropical storm Karen.

and magically the scale has me right back where I started this week at 265 and change.

The food intake has been good all week, the workouts have been pretty good too, but a little on the light side since I'm just getting back good. I've been fluctuating now between 262ish and 265 for a couple of weeks. Ready to get through this crap so I can see some 5's in that second number.

okay, so let's talk water. I have a feeling that part of my problem is due in part to not consuming enough water. I keep a package of water under my desk at work so that I can just pull out a bottle and drink it when I want. The problem is that I only tend to drink when I'm thirsty. Here is a typical day for me involving fluids:

1-2 cups of coffee when I get in to work in the mornring (my coffee mug could be ~10-12 oz if I had to guess).

1 bottle (17oz) of water with lunch.

Get home from work and have 1 or 2 diet mt. dew throughout the rest of the evening.

Sometimes I don't even get in the bottle of water at work. Some days I just don't get thirsty and don't even think about it.

Earlier this week when I posted that I had lost all the weight I gained from the weekend, I had drank 4 bottles of water at work that day and I think even had a glass (16 oz) when I got home that night.

In the last two days I have consumed maybe 2 bottles of water. I realize as I'm typing this that it's even more obvious that this is a part of my problem, and it should be an easy thing to fix. Maybe just typing it out and owning up to it is something that I need to do to help me focus on it more.

water is important, but I've never been a huge fan of it either. I have a big 32oz mug at work that I fill with water and I try to drink at least 2 of those a day but a lost of days I don't. And at home I definitely don't.

Anyway, I had pizza and some beer last night No excuses, just made a poor decision.

The more hydrated you get the more hydrated you want to stay. Drink nothing but water, and lots of it, for a few days and you will crave water.
