I guess I could have done a worse job this weekend. Not sure how, but statistically, I guess it is possible.

Cadfasting today to get the carbs out of my body!

Hey guys. Was CM still doing the Boston Marathon? I just saw about the explosion there.

ETA, someone on the OT said he is okay.

I've haven't been too serious with the diet the past few weeks. Eating bad on the weekends and getting back to even during the week only to eat bad again that weekend. Been getting to around 253 every Friday then 260 on Monday then repeat.

Well now I've been diagnosed with tongue cancer and the doc told me last week to get off the low carb diet and basically eat all I could leading up to the surgery this coming Monday. He said between the surgery, the recovery from it, and the radiation treatment that I would lose 30-40 lbs. he sai he didn't want my body depleted of carbs or calories going into this.

So with that said, I've been eating carbs and drinking good beer since he told me that last Wednesday.

I don't dip or smoke and am only 34 so it came as a surprise when the biopsy of the never ending ulcer came back as malignant.

The PET scan Friday showed it hasn't spread past the tongue and I caught it early so the docs and I are confident we are gonna beat this thing and move on.

Fellers.

ETA: so hopefully when I report back again, I will be near my goal weight of 230 just not the way I intended to get there.

Thanks.

I've donated to cancer causes over the years and learning about all the amazing technology that has been developed, I'm glad I did.

The things they are capable of doing are amazing. I have extremely high hopes for my full recovery.

Wow, sorry to hear Josey. Good luck and enjoy yourself. Chemo is no joke, I had to watch it nearly kill my grandmother

I won't have any chemo. Just tongue surgery and most likely radiation.

Should be about a 6-8 week ordeal if all goes as planned.

It's gonna really suck.

Oh okay. They must have caught it pretty early then. Good to hear. You always have your very own support group here if you need it

I did catch it pretty early. The first sign of the ulcer was only 6-8 weeks ago and the PET scan showed it still confined to the tongue only as o Friday. Nothing showed up at all in the neck area.

Thanks for the support. I'm gonna need it.

Never realized what this thread was. Wish I would have known.

Decided to lose weight in December. I'm 5'8" and was 210. I'm in college and gained a shite load of weight drinking and cooking. Got motivated and today I am at 158.
