re: Cruise extra costs question - ProudLSUMom
That is really a broad question. I did research on cruisecritic.com before our Alaskan cruise. You can research drink prices and packages, excursions, etc. This information is on your cruise providers website also. ...

re: Areas to avoid in Chicago? - ProudLSUMom
What exactly makes up the "south side"? Is there a certain street or area that defines the border?
You know I'm not sure. Maybe it's south of downtown? I do remember seeing a map and south side was marked on it. We were staying in the Gold Coast area....

re: Areas to avoid in Chicago? - ProudLSUMom
We stayed at the Hotel Indigo 2 weeks ago. We liked the location because it was in a high end residential area and not the busy Magnificent Mile area. We also got a great rate but the parking next door is a whopping $48 a night. We really should have looked for a cheaper option. Also, we thou...

re: Recommendations from car guys on Mid size SUV or luxury sedan - ProudLSUMom
Love my 2014 Acura MDX. Very comfortable and I get up to 33 mpg on the interstate. Also loved my 2004 Infiniti FX35. Kept it for 10 years and I rarely keep a car more than 5 years. I think the FX35 is called something different now. Not sure what it is....

re: Favorite food (related) smells in the air - ProudLSUMom
When I worked downtown, I loved the smell of bread baking at Flowers Bakery.
I had a temp job at Flowers Bakery back in the 90's. It was heaven on earth. Occasionally we were treated to fresh loaves out of the oven with lots of butter. ...
Leaving out of New Orleans or Miss? If this storm intensifies, it will actually be good for LA as it should push the storm towards Florida. Just keep an eye out over the next 48 hours as that's when it's expected to increase in intensity, I still wouldn't give up on the trip at all
...
Glad for your sake this thing is taking its sweet time moving into the gulf. Unfortunately, it's making later this week look a little worse for everyone going to the game
We are supposed to be leaving Wednesday for Chicago/Green Bay but this storm may change that. We live one mil...

re: Waveland MS - ProudLSUMom
We moved to Pass Christian last year. Love it here! The closest chair and umbrella service to Waveland that I'm aware of is on hwy 90 close to Henderson in Pass Christian. It's not crowded at all at that location. Other beach rentals are in Gulfport and Biloxi and those tend to be more crowded. ...

I have read that you can ask for a deferment for a year on your mortgage if you flooded. Obviously, the one year gets tacked on to the end of your mortgage. ...

re: Any Hotels around BR/Zachery not effected? - ProudLSUMom
I'm pretty sure the closest vacancy will be Hammond or New Orleans. Maybe others here will know if the case is any different. Oh and it's not because a lot of hotels flooded, it's because displaced homeowners are in them. ...
I was thinking of that also. I'm also assuming that there may be teachers who have lost their cars due to flooding. Not to mention the teachers/drivers who have lost their homes and will take some time getting settled again. I'm hoping Galvez Primary wasn't hit too hard, still might be a ...
