Pluckers set to move into the Mall of Louisiana

Pluckers Wing Bar is preparing to open its second Baton Rouge location at the old Bennigan's location at the Mall of Louisiana. Todd Denton, mall manager, says Pluckers should open in the first quarter of 2011. Pluckers, based in Austin, has a location near Tigerland. The restaurant specializes in chicken wings and burgers. Denton also says demolition of the old CompUSA building should start in January, and a Red Lobster restaurant between 7,000 and 8,000 square feet will open on the site around June.

this is fantastic news. I love pluckers over any other wing place in BR, but hate having to drive from jefferson hwy to campus to go to it.

I seriously doubt BWW is going anywhere, it will always have a loyal audience.

In any case, I'm glad I won't have to drive to campus to enjoy Pluckers. Went there for the first time a week or so ago, really enjoyed it.

its already had to close down once, then went through a long period where they were only open for dinner, no lunch

i dont think it does that well, even though i think they have some damn good sauces, and their 50 cent boneless wings are pretty solid

It's packed every night I either eat there or drive by. It's pretty much a Black college hangout, the parking lot is always full at night.

Only reason BWW does what it does is because like I said there is NOTHING else in the area.

Once a similar place opens (Pluckers) in the area, which is far superior, BWW will quickly lose its following.

Me too. They are also opening up a Wingstop on the corner of Bluebonnet/Burbank. 3 wing places on Bluebonnet.

I prefer BWW sauces, prices, and service. Might just be unlucky but it seems everytime I order takeout or delivery from Pluckers they always say "about an hour" and it's usually and hour and a half or two hours. BWW 45 cent wing nights beats the hell out of Pluckers $17 or whatever it is all you can eat .

And no I do not go to a black college.

With all the excitment about the new Pluckers i think we are missing the most disturbing part of this article

yet I am sure it will be packed to the gills every night!

I like the food at BWW, but the service blows.

I wonder if this will thin out the fried shrimp and strawberry daiquiri crowd at Chimes East.
