Don't care what anyone says, you have to bunt in that situation. Don't care that Gibbs has a .390 average.

That call may cost us this game and end our season.

ETA: Yes I know he is the best coach at LSU...

Who cares about that play.

The lack of fundamentals at the plate is much more bothersome. Sanchez needs to GTFO.

and if he failed to put down the bunt...you'd crucify him still for having a .390 guy bunting...frickin whiner

How about leaving Bert in too long and him giving up that solo shot.. That's the diff in the game right now

Our team sucks at bunting. Might have been the right gamble at the time. I think our biggest issue is being patient at the plate. we give a lot of first pitch flyouts and groundouts and take a long time to see a teams bullpen. We need more long innings for opposing pitchers.

This is an absolute fact. Or even if he got the bunt down but the next guys failed to get them in.

This makes no sense. It obviously wasnt the right call because we scored no runs. With that said, it was a tough decision to make and Im not gonna crucify him for not bunting.

You must not have noticed we are very poor bunting team.
That falls on the coach, but I was fine with Gibbs swining away.

Seems to me that the other team brings in a new pitcher with one flinch, and we leave ours in tooooo long. Anyone else get that feeling? If need be, I would change with every inning.

Terrible excuse to not make the correct call and have him try again.

In case you didn't notice, Nola hit a fly ball to right field which would have scored Mahtook.

I love Mainieri, but you HAVE To bunt in that situation, I don't care who's at the plate.

you put the go-ahead run on second with only 1 out... it's a no-brainer.

Oh well, on to football season. Hopefully we'll get better pitching next season.

That he is a comparatively much better hitter than bunter is a terrible excuse? What? So it was absolutely the right call to have Gaudet bunt Sat, even though he is a horrible bunter, because it was a bunting situation?

Our hitters showed no cool at the plate, especially in key situations. The weekend rests on that, not on any collection of bad decisions by PM.
