I love to hunt and wouldn't want to be too far home so I'd say NE LA or NW Miss. But the smart answer is rental property. Either way you go it's a nice start but $1,000,000 won't go as far as some may think

How much snow covers those chairs for how many months a year?

Only two months out of the year where the daily high averages below freezing. Dry, sunny climate with an average of 74" of snowfall a year, which isn't much.

You'd be surprised how bearable 25 degrees with no wind, little humidity and ample sunshine can be.

Summers are mid-upper 70's. Fly fishing heaven and it's a short drive to Sun Valley for skiing.

I buy A share in Henderson island which is the old willow point and build a camp there. That'd pretty much wipe out a million.

South Texas, but $1M won't get you much down there now.

If we are talking just hunting then Prob somewhere in OK or Kansas where I can slaughter both ducks and big deer. Montana would also be tempting.

East Arkansas around Stuttgart. With some timber too.

Yea Ark is another good option, where ever it is timber for GHs is a must. There is really so many good options, Missouri is also a good option. Hell I know areas in ETX where you can murder the GHs and regularly kill 140-160 class deer. So many options, Concordia/Catahoula/Tensas is my go to if in LA.

Over use of the word option there.

If I'm spending a million on land, there will be mountains and a stream or two on the property.

Alright, Roger! You talked me into it! Now I just need to find an extra million or so...

I like fishing, hunting and guns, but I LOVE just being out there in the middle of it. In my estimation, there aren't many things better than being out in the wilderness on a starry night without any assholes around.

In the lower 48, Idaho or Eastern Oregon are where it's at.

I don't want to sound too presumptuous... What I actually mean "is with no OTHER assholes around.

I'm not, and probably never will be, ready to go into full-on Unabomber hermit mode, but
solitude in the wilderness is good for the soul. It provides some perspective on life and allows you to reflect on your life and what's actually important to you.

I read somewhere that in the lower 48, the most distant you can be from a road is 22 miles, somewhere in Yellowstone. I don't think most of us are ever too far from civilization. I'd be content with a nice little cabin, close to a small town on the edge of wilderness.

Those chairs look awesome. I'd buy land in Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, somewhere out west. The cold ain't bad when you learn how to dress for it.

I was in Montana and the high was 3 one day and felt about like freezing would here. Good thermals, jeans, long sleeve shirt and jacket and I got a little warm.
