Mine too if I get her started. I usually get her started down the ramp and then jump in the boat and let her finish if she is with me.

And NO. I don't like to use valet parking because I don't like strangers in my vehicle.

When launches had the hoists it solved the issue of people taking too long backing down.

Right. Now, there is a serpentine aspect to the movement, but she gets it right at the end, and does not take up more of the ramp than she should.

If i owned the launch i would have 15 fulltime employees. 2 to work bait,3 to work store,5 to work fish cleaning stations,5 to work launch duties

you would go bankrupt

I believe they may have 5-6 employees tops at my marina

you've obviously never been to Sweetwater then. Jacks crew, albeit a small one, does their very best to move things quickly by launching peoples boats for them. They don't go park your vehicle or go retrieve it for you but they're the best at moving things quickly over there. They don't do it for everyone either, just the ones who ask or look like they're having problems.

They do a great job. It's awesome.

The amount of money that you would have to charge someone to cover the cost of the insurance premium that you would need to pay as a business owner to protect you from potential damage liability by your staff alone would make this unfeasible.

Unless you just want to be a non profit.

I believe supply has already met demand in this particular business enterprise.

The only place I have found something like this to be helpful is when using a launch directly into the MS river when it's high. Then it becomes VERY VERY difficult even for someone that knows what they are doing to get the boat in and out of the water easily and safely.

Everywhere else I don't need the help and I don't want it.

not sure about backing boats in, but we used a launch out of buras or empire(forget which) several years ago and they had a guy that would park your truck/trailer after launch. You called his cell on your way in and he was ready to back down ramp when you got there. cost a few bucks, I though it was well worth it and sped things up.

and you know your Dad wouldn't take advantage of the valet service. He'd block that launch up like a damn baws wouldn't he?

usually. for a 71 yr old guy he ain't TOO bad. i go with him and his old buddies as often as i can. they appreciate the younger help and pay for everything. even if we use my boat - sweet deal

That was riverside in Buras Lloyd was his name, launch was directly into the river with not much of a warf to tie your boat up to.

but but but, Liability! Insurance! Blah Blah Blah!!!

frickin people. It's an idea and evidently not too far fetched of an idea if an old coonass has been doing it down in Buras for decades.

We keep ours at Marina that holds your boat on land and then puts it in a slip when you call them. It's like $120 a month. They launch/take out/ and clean bottom of the boat for $30. They have gas and bait. We live 3 hours from the water so we'll call then the day before and let them know we're coming down. Really cool deal. Bait, gas, ice, and launch then cut them a check for the weekend when we leave.
