My wife rarely drives my truck.

You think I'm gonna let T-Boy and the 17 years olds who recently dropped out of school back my rig in?

The kind of people they would employ are the kind of people that clog it up.

Seabrook dry stack boat storage - "We do all the work for you. Call us and we'll have your boat fueled, in the water, and ready to go. We will even load drinks and ice them down for you. When you return, just tie up to the dock and GO HOME! We will haul out the boat and rinse the hull (rub rail down) UNLIMITED IN AND OUT!"

Store it there and you never even have to trailer it. Only problem is you're limited to fish that area.

there are a bunch of storage type marinas all over the SE of the US that provide this service. People don't mind it.

How about this. YOU back your boat into the water, then once you pull the trailer out, then you let the lil guy take your truck and trailer and park so you don't have to walk. Have a large lot out of the way as to not clutter up parking lot in and around the marina. I would be good with that.

not a bad idea to have it as an optional service. my dad is getting up in years but can still drive his truck and boat and fish by himself w/o trouble. however, its getting harder and harder for him to do the "heavy" work launching and loading much less we all lose flexibility making backing down the trailer more difficult.

No.

The people around here generally do a good job other than the summer fun boaters, but they are easy to avoid.

and you know your Dad wouldn't take advantage of the valet service. He'd block that launch up like a damn baws wouldn't he?

If we are talking a badass set up where I can toss them my keys, sit in the AC, buy some baits, drink a beer, grab what ever I need they can top my boat off with fuel, and I go down and my boat is tied up, idling and ready to go. Yes. The going straight to launch and time saved would be worth it.

If we are talking someone to back my shite down while I stand at a hot arse launch doing nothing and watching them. No.

One should have to pass a competency test before backing down unassisted. Just like there should be one to play golf on 18 hole courses.

someone should just go set up shop near the lauch with a sign that says they will back your boat down for $10. I would bet at a busy launch during summer a bunch of new boat owners would be willing to pay.

no way any launch would be able to support 4-5 people doing it.

I agree, but I generally have more trouble with folks that just clog up everything. So maybe a time management course to go with the backing down part.

And zones, like a green zone for boat prep for launch a quarter mile away. Then a blue zone for boat prep for leaving, another quarter mile away.

If someone is caught outside of those zones piddling around, they could get tasered.

Back in the days (about 20 years ago) at Delta Marina, you stayed in your truck as they lift the boat off the trailer and place it into water. They would put ice in your igloo if you needed it for a cost. Then you park your truck, hop in the boat and go fishing.
