I have pulled 4 from yard over years and now they are all gone. Put on gloves, cut fronds and then cut around base with shovel. Then I pulled 2 with jeep and one with ATV. Other one I just kept chopping at roots and working with shovel.

Good luck.

coming from someone that has worked doing landscaping the past couple summers, there is no good way to dig them up. Just have to put mind over matter and slowly but surely dig them up

No. But if anyone wants them they can have them for free if they come dig them up.

The best way I've found is to get Some shears,Two shovels, a pick axe and a family of Mexicans to operate them

Done it both ways but pulling it out with the winch was the easiest.

Cut it flush with the ground and put a potted plant on it.
This is the easiest/laziest way, not necessarily the best way.

speaking from personal experience here...before you get around the thing, go and get yourself a pair of safety glasses...

if you have a small chainsaw you're almost done...use it to cut up from the ground and cut all the fronds off...then dig and winch out...put by road and it will be picked up within a few hours...

I hate them.

Luckily they pull easily. Any 4x4 truck should be able to yank it up if it isn't too huge

About 10lbs of tannerite will do it.

Stop by your local power company service center and ask for about 40 ft. of scrap 1/4 guy wire. (they throw this stuff away) Make sure you get the guy keepers with it, one for each end.

Dig all the way around the base of the tree, deep enough that the wire will go into the root ball when you pull it.

Wrap the wire around the base of the tree in the hole you dug, pass one end through the guy keeper loop making a lasso. Pull the loop tight and then put the trailing end (with the other guy keeper) on your tow hook or trailer ball and snatch with your truck. The guy wire will cut through the root ball like it was hot butter.

If you want to kill a palm tree, just dump some rock salt in the top and let it sit for a few weeks. The salt will melt down into the cabbage head and kill it.
