Easily this is mine.....ratchet straps. When they work with zero adjustments I love them. But when they are too short and it is cold outside.
When they are too long and I have ratcheted it down to the max and it is still too long.

Ratchet straps are a good call. Hate those frickers.

Deer camera. No matter how much I spend, they never work.

I second the weed eater. Actually, it doesn't count because it's a hate/hate relationship.

The only thing I hate about ratchet straps...when I tie down my 4 wheeler to my trailer, no matter how tight I strap them, they always come loose. Any tips?

You're doing it wrong...

Done properly, they're never to long (well, no longer than the ratchet end plus the length of the hooks, which is usually 18-24"). Always pull the tag end as taut as you can by hand before you start ratcheting. Don't just pull it a few inches thru the ratchet then start tightening. Doing that is what makes it roll up on itself and the roll may get too big before the strap is tight.

LINK

Please tell me you're not serious about it rolling up on itself...

Pull it hand tight first. And you'll never have this problem

Also, some white lithium grease on the spool and release slides helps tremendously!

Boats. Anything and everything to do with a boat.

I love them so much when they're working and want to blow them up so much when they're not.

Get the big yellow ones and spray with WD40 after every use. They almost always work

One of the greatest joys in life is a well WD40ed ratchet strap.

My safety harness. Nothing says awesome like fumbling with a tangled web of frick shite at 5:00 in the morning in the cold. If I didn't have kids and actually fear a 16 foot fall I would burn the damn thing and piss on the ashes.
