This and give it back with a full tank of gas.

I let my buddy borrow my trailer so he can move and he brought it back in terrible shape.. took the hubcaps off for some reason and jacked up the wiring. Told him never again and he said,"don't plan on moving again, so that's cool..."

I have one neighbor who has "borrowed" probably $100 in hand tools in the last 5 years that I have never seen again. Problem is, I don't loan my stuff out. If someone needs to borrow something, I'll generally caryy it over myself and hang out until their done, maybe helping out if possible. Then I know I will bring it back home. My wife on the other hand thinks that loaning out stuff is neighborly. Right! Until they don't give it back. Frick that! A could weeks ago, he asked to "borrow" a utility knife. I told him no and offered him a single edge razor blade.

Absolutely. It's not like my sister (no pics) is going to understand if I have to whip my BIL for not returning my miter saw. Women don't understand that shite.

Depends on who is asking, some people get nothing. Some of my buddies I have loaned my truck, boat, guns, 4 wheeler, pretty much anything they need, but it is always brought back in the same if not better shape.

If it's a brother, brother-in-law, or my dad - they can borrow anything they need and they know that.

If it's a friend, there are limits. I only loan out things I am either 100% ok with them not returning or I am 100% sure they would replace if lost or broken. Most of the time I figure that if I loan something to someone and they don't give it back or give it back in shite shape then I know I can't trust them and that knowledge will save me from future distress. Kind of like this saying:

If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Completely depends on what it is and who.

I don't like to borrow stuff. If I need something I'll just go buy it.

If I value it, don't loan it.

shite, my brother is so bad that my dad used to randomly blame me for not bringing tools back. I worked at a hardware store and got anything I needed at cost+5%, so I bought any tool I needed. He came to the realization about 5 years ago that it was never me when he would need to borrow from me, yet his tools still kept coming up missing.

I have a buddy who has loaned his boat out to the same guy on 3 different occasions. Dude has caused at least $500 in damages each time and has never offered a dime to pay for repairs. Fool me three times, I guess.
