I've considered doing something like that. Just hard to convince myself 3 weeks of hunting for 3k dollars or about

Trust me, it's a BIG decision for me every year. But my kids are at the perfect age now. They love going. See deer every sit, and always a chance to kill a giant. I sit and look at the finance every year in January. Hope I can continue to make it work.

I love the central/west Texas hunting. You can keep a kid interested out there. Deer everywhere every hunt. Both my boys got their first bucks in Central Texas. Every deer hunter should get a few trips there.

I think I'm going out of state next season, i can get approx 300 acres for about $3,500 in Missouri and not have to worry about dealing with a hunting club.

I lease tracts as small as 40 acres, usually for not less than $20 on those small tracts. Some are a lot more. I lease some pine plantation for $7/acre.

It just depends on where you want to go and what you want to spend.

I lease a small tract myself and pay just over $20/acre, but don't have to deal with other people.

That's about what you'd pay for a good Texas lease

Anywhere from $300-1k (depending on the number of hunters per acre) in south Arkansas for a typical lease. In areas that have a lot of big deer and are highly managed (like the Mississippi delta) you could pay 5k or more.

I'm on the low end where I hunt in Drew County. Ten of us lease 1000 acres. It's managed for pine, not deer, and cost $6.50/acre. Dues come out to $800/member after adding in insurance, campsite costs and electricity, etc.

I leased out my 40 acres of timberland to a guy this year for $800. I thought that was high but it sounds in the right ballpark.

Depends on where and what kind, but for the most part, when you get down to 40 acre tracts, its not worth the trouble/exposure to take anything less.

Got to be one of those big clubs up there like Millbrook or Woodstock. Too expensive for Cotton Hill
