I'll be on the Texas side at Pendleton. My buddy will be there Tuesday and fish Housen.
If they catch, I'll have to leave at 3 AM to make it there before they leave to go back. If they fish the bridge I can leave anytime.
Good luck.

I fully agree. Can't get enough of it.

I am strongly pondering the possibility of retiring over there in a couple of years.

I fished braid 2 seasons and consistantly caught less fish.

Very fair assessment. That's what I would do. Make up my own mind about methods, materials, baits, etc. Sounds like you have done that.

It was just a suggestion to be sure you have that "tool" in your arsenal. Braid works sometimes. Does not work other times. Sounds like you are doing super good.

Thanks for your posts. I really enjoy them.

With so much warm weather lately, IMO fish pre-spawn or spawning bass in 1-5 feet grass or no grass shoreline. However you want. Wherever you suspect holds lunkers.

Good Fishing...

They are having trouble finding grass with the low water this year. My buddy is starting to panic but I reminded him the year Toledo was at a record low level we smashed the fish unlike any year before. Many people wouldn't even launch because of the stumps. We used my Xpress a ton and had success almost every trip.

Do you have an Xpress bass boat. If so, which model? Would you recommend it? I fish a 21' Ranger but would like to buy a smaller bass boat for backwater and low water conditions. Thanks!

Just got back from a 4 day trip, hay grass is abundant in Buck, Mill, and Housen. Front moved in on Tuesday and moved them deeper, very few spots we found submerged grass. Water temps were right at 60, should be about to move up.

35 pounds with 5 fish is BassMasters status.
They must have been site fishing and taking big females off the nest.
