Yes. What I was thinking, what I posted and still what I recommend. Fish 1'-5' grass or non-grass shoreline however you want and wherever you think you can land big lunkers. Incredibly warm weather (for this time of year) predicts that. The 1'-3' water temp. has to be near 65-68 F later in each day, even if I am not there to measure water temp. of shallow water warmest sides of creeks, bays, cuts, coves, etc.

The female cold blooded bedding bass can measure that 60-70 F temperature, though.

Wow. Just reading about how you guys are doing excites me. You just know the guy catching 5 fish, 35 pounds caught and culled many other smaller fish (maybe releasing one or more 5 or 6 pounders). Don't know. Maybe. The thought is provocative.

Wish I could get back to fishing and once again fish for large bass on Toledo. Alas, I'm over 70 and can only read about current successes of other anglers. Like yourself. And other anglers on this board. My brother and I fished TB in my bass boat back when all submerged trees still had leaves on them - from the beginning. Sorry to reminisce.

This is that time of the year to catch a very large bass, guys. Good luck.

are you just saying low as compared to last year or just low in general. I wouldn't say 169+ is low.

My dad caught 9 keepers yesterday, biggest was 6.7. He released it and kept the rest.

In the 70s and 80s when y'all would come back to the ramp back with an ice chest full of bass, did anyone freak out and lecture about catch and release like they do today?

Fishing on the nest of a spawning bass is a big no no.

Aren't you the same guy that was bragging about cheating in tournaments.
I find it hard to take moral advice from people like you.

If you think people arent catching those fish for tournaments you're full of shite.
That's why they have replica programs, to put those fish back and give them a chance to spawn.

We caught 36 keeper size fish Wednesday. Bluebird day. Wind was just right.
Fished creeks and some deeper about 8-12 feet.
We caught 8 today then the wind killed us so we left early. Had 2 about 41/2.
Fished south Wednesday and mid lake today.
If you find grass, you will find fish.
Water is lower than last year, by no means was I implying record lows. I fished that year and they built docks on dry land that we now fish at.
Spots we fished last year are now dry land. Grass we fished last year is now gone.
We cleaned some that had already spawned.

The story about the 35 pound/ 5 fish tourney winner was accurate as someone stated earlier. I heard it from someone there. Culled fish all day and ended up with 5 around 7 pounds each. Heard several 10 pound fish being caught south.

Caught 22 keepers Friday evening before the front came through flipping t-rigged plastics in bushes and grass on six mile.

Caught 8 all day today, had to scrap for them. Biggest was 3.5lb. Caught 6 on a Carolina rig. Mostly brush hogs

Lake is pretty damn low which means there's even more stumps, be careful out there fellas.

Its 3 feet lower than last year, but I dont consider it to be "low" 169+ is pretty average. I guess what i'm saying is i seen it at 162' so i'm happy with 169.

i'm looking for a launch on the texas side to access mills creek? the one under six mile any suggestions.

not sure if you're referring to results from this year but i know a guy who had a bigger 31 pd stringer a few years ago but definitely did it pulling monsters off beds(said they didn't catch the biggest one they had found either, would have culled a 3 pounder and put them 35+)

"I'll be texting you while I'm there. Let you know what we are doing.
I know we will hit Housen and the bridge.
Maybe try 1215, Six Mile, Sapavado's and Bison.
May he even run a day to Rayburn. "

throwing Six Mile in that list is a curve ball !

I'm just basing it off of my fishing spots. I grew up in Converse and have fished Toledo bend for 20 years now.

youll want to target early shad spawn right now, then back off to the humps in the creek channels on a good worm. we have caught most of our fish in the Housen area the last couple of years. keying on good underwater grass is the key. learn to read and trust your birds.

Birds.
I'm starting to believe in them.
Diving Loons have been pay days lately. They are like fish locators.
