My dad had 10 shiners left this morning before leaving to come home. He made a quick run to a brushpile we planted earlier this year. He caught 8 real nice ones back to back. Needless to say, he went buy more shiners. I hope to get pictures later.

We dumped 10 brush piles last week.
Took 5 trips.
Can't wait to fish them.

This was our first experiment. We used Christmas trees. I think I may make some PVC trees and go sink them too.

BTW: I am looking for a boat if you know someone with one for sale. I am not in any rush, so I am being kinda picky. I thought I found one last night but he sold it yesterday.

What size and kind?

We sank 2 several years ago and a few months later they were full of bass.

This time we made extra large ones with bamboo.

I want a skeeter or ranger no bigger than 19ft. 2006 or newer.

I was looking at the 519vx, 520VX or the zx-190, zx200. I am wanting to stay around $20k.

Those things are for real, and jig hooks do not snag into them. Killed them last winter on some kinda like these,

I'll keep my eyes open on the boat.
I think any kind of structure right now with the lack of grass will attract lots of fish.
How much cement you putting in the buckets?

I like that. I was watching a video on making them earlier. They said a key is to sand the pipes so algae can grow better.

If I were doing it, I'd use smaller diameter cross pipes, and more of them.

Are those jugs to help the top float?

Has to be. The ones I found did not have them. No idea if the builder used them when planting. I would.

Would you drop one in an area then move to another area or put several together? How would you space them? Maybe like 3 in 10 square yard area?

How are people allowed to just throw that into the lake?

Why not. It helps the habitat.

There is no downside to it. It's usually in 20 foot of water.

I was just curious what wlf has to say about it. I know it improves habitat, but where do the draw the line of people sinking shite?

I'll try to talk my buddy into fishing the ones we threw in last week or at least pass over them and look for fish.
If we do I'll let you know what happens.

Word. If this weather looks like it will get better I may run up there, but will probably wait until next week.
