I have a 2500 Ci4+ on a shimano cumura. I brought it out to Grand Isle for the bull red tournament. I was playing around with some artificial and got a monster to bite. The bull red almost spooled me. We went back and forth for about 45mins lol. I was using 10# mono. But for inshore reds/specs, definitely enough capacity(2500). Its great since its a very light setup and very smooth.
BTW 3000 is the same sized body as the 2500 but with a slightly larger spool.

I'd go 3000. Same weight, gear ratio, and drag as the 2500 but more line capacity.

If you use braid, it really doesn't matter if you go 2500 or 3000. If you're a mono guy, go 3000 b/c the spool is a bit bigger. Same reel though

The white Stradic is a solid reel. I had to retire one a few weeks ago and replaced it with the CI4. The CI4 feels the same as the old Stradic to me. The 2500 with 10 lb Flouro/20 lb leader is my setup for specs and reds.

Hold them both side by side, the ci4 is waaaay lighter.
