Whats the proudest moment of your outdoor life, for me its a close tie of killing my first deer (Doe) or killing a really nice buck that was the first one I had done everything on (Scouted, placed stand, moved stand, moved stand again, etc.)

I have a feeling they will all be replaced when my son kills his first deer.

The day I bought my Yeti.

Kidding aside, I was proud as a kid when I killed my first deer (button buck). My dad's redbone ran her to me on a dog drive.

As an adult? Hard to pin down. Some years ago I started a father and son hunting who had never gone before. Both are now into guns. I also introduced a buddy to duck hunting.

Hard to nail down a definitive answer off the top of my head, but two that come to mind
1. Killing my first turkey. All on my own.
2. Watching my boykin go on his first duck hunt and picking up a bunch of mallards. My first dog to train and watching him work is pretty rewarding

When I was about 15 or 16 my dad and I went to Toledo for a weekend in early February. I hardly ever caught more fish than him, but that weekend I killed him! On the Saturday I caught 9 to his 3, and I caught a 6 and a two 5's. I had never even caught a five pounder before that day, I was pumped!

Proudest to date: Killing my first turkey.

Proudest yet to come: Killing my first turkey that I called in myself. I've called a few in the last two years, but never got a shot on them. The only time I manage to kill one is if I get my dad to call for me.

I quit deer hunting when I was young because I never saw anything. Hell I began to wonder if these things even existed. I got back into it 3 years ago and killed an 8 point Thanksgiving weekend. I've now gotten 1 each of the last 3 years.

Torn between my first public land archery buck and my first 8 point archery buck. Both had me shaking so hard I could barely function.

My boy catching his first fish and bull frog. He's only 3 so no hunting yet! As for me, pulling a descent 7 point out of Thisawait WMA. Anyone who's been there knows the struggle.

I usualy don't call when I hunt but calling in and knocking down in two pintail drakes on a solo hunt is on top I think for me. Getting my 2 1/2 year old daughter on her first blue gill a week ago just beat out my duck hunt though.

1st deer I shot were 5min apart with my dad. A cull walked out and I shot him, 5min later a nice 6 walked out and dropped him too. Just sent the horns off to get a knife made for him for christmas. Was an awesome experience.

Catching that speck I posted a few weeks ago ranks up there aswell

Calling in and killing my first duck. The calling sucked and I spooked off everything that day except one and I took that one. Wish I could say it was a nice drake mallard or something but it was a gadwall hen

Eta I was 10

probably either
-Bow kill of a seven point at a place on a military base that I scouted & hunted on my own.
-First limit of ducks ever, opening day last year (third year of duck hunting), with a gun that would only shoot once. Still my best limit ever, quality wise: 3 woodies, a grey, a gwt and a greenhead. On public land that I found on a map myself, scouted and hunted on my own.

Catching a 9lb bass on a beetle spin with 6lb test in our creek at a turn where there's old rail road bridge.

Or my first deer. Button buck when I was 9

My son's first deer, easily. A 6pt he dropped in his tracks 15 minutes after his first time he got into a stand as the trigger man.

Mine is probably my biggest buck. A big gnarly 9pt I had been hunting all year. Never found any blood, thought I had bricked. Put my lab on him in a last ditch effort and he found him within 5 minutes, on his first tracking job. Got to drink several celebratory whiskies with El Josey Wales that evening too, which made it even better.

When i had a 10+ lb. trout laying on its side beside my boat while fishing the causeway with my 2 children a few years back. Would have been landed, measured and weighed till some bitch decided to whack the motherfricker in the head with a net and it spit the hook. Fish was over 32" long. I know this because i had a fish length sticker on the gunnel of my boat that went to 32" and it was longer than the sticker it was floating next to.

Still. Got to fight that fish, had it wore out floating and my kids got to witness the biggest trout i've even seen/caught personally.

My first fox Squirrel with my dad, I was 10 years old with my fathers 3 shot, bolt action 410 shotgun. It took all 3 shots but I got him. My dad was laughing his arse off screaming "Shooting Boy".

Not really sure.

Here are a few that rank up there:
1st turkey that I called in.
tarpon on a flyrod
just the fact that my kids love the outdoors and hunting/fishing with me.
The look on my nephews face when he opened his Christmas present this past year. I got him a Heritage Rough Rider.

Me and my dad were in separate ladder stands about 15 yards apart. Two does walked out and he only seen one. I was looking at him in the corner of my eyes waiting for him to tell me to shoot, because the one he didn't see was 10 yards in front me. Well I couldn't wait any longer and shot it with my 4-10 with buck shot and it ran under him and fell. He had no clue where that deer came from. It was my first deer and if I would have waited for him to tell me to shoot I wouldn't have killed anything. The one he was watching was staying behind some trees. He thought I shot at that one.
