Just went through this whole process. You have to register any houseboat now. You have to fill out an Affidavit of non-motorized houseboat, get it notarized, then either mail or carry yo...

Outboard motor problems - 4 stroke Mercury
Posted by tigerbait703 on 10/18/23 at 2:12 pm
Have a 2013 Mercury 25 outboard that stays out the weather. It has push button electric start, and it will not start unless I pull it out in the sun and let it sit for a while. Its something to do with the cold.
Anyone ever had this problem? Only thing I can think of is a computer issue. I had so...

re: v6 or V8 Mudboat builders

Where you located? There are a few options where I am. There is a guy not far from me that built many muboats over the years. Built my dads in 1995 and still using it today. He has a E82 Subaru in it, not a V6 or V8....

Most are built into the bottom of the boat. It uses the water underneath to cool off the water in the keels and circulates through the motor and back to the keels.
It can sit at idol in the yard and just the amount of volume going through the keels are enough to keep the motor cool.
The key is...

re: New 50 HP Pro-Drive Outboard
Posted by tigerbait703 on 6/12/23 at 3:40 pm
It can be cooled by a simple keel cool system. Most mudboats with car engines have them now. If it can cool a V8 I'm sure it can keep up with a 50 Outboard.
My dads E72 Subaru mudboat has this set up since 1995 and still works great....

New 50 HP Pro-Drive Outboard
Posted by tigerbait703 on 5/8/23 at 3:45 pm
Has anyone seen or heard anything about the new Pro-Drive?
I thinks its a 50HP Tohatsu Outboard, but would still need a way to be water cooled. Maybe some kind of internal keel cool.
Here is a few screen shots I took of KP's video.
