Glacier National Park was absolutely awe inspiring to me. Never seen anything like it before.

What year was this? I had same experience in the goose field about 4am, was pretty freaky, lit up everything the geese got spooked, started going nuts. Maybe 1997? The news said it could be seen in La. Ms, parts of Arky and Tx.

What does a red fox squirrel hunt?
Yeah, I read that statement like five times trying to get what he was saying.
Back to the point: The swallow-tailed kite I saw a couple of weeks ago has to rank right up there.

There are many. Every time I see Big Horn sheep while fishing I have to stop what I'm doing and simply observe. It still charges me to watch them. Yesterday I saw one knock about a 2 1/2' lizard or chuckwalla of some sort off the side of a cliff.

I am ashamed to admit this, but I was not being a 100 percent smartass. I thought the squirrel was a lil more carnivorous than I imagined?
Only later did I realize he was talking about seeing a red fox.
Most spectacular thing I have ever seen was a couple of years back, on Cotile lake. My wife and I were cruising along the bank, look up to see a bald eagle in a pine tree. He comes out of it, flies about 15 feet over our head....then goes swoops down just a few yards from our boat and picks a 1 pound white perch right off the top. The fish was flipping around a bunch, it was a neat thing.

While it wasn't the prettiest, I watched a tornado touch down outside our house and move across basically our back pasture. The thing was massive and it was close enough I could actually see tree's/branches/rocks all kinds of stuff getting sucked up into it.

Sight fishing on Caney, and keyed in on a bed fish. Heard some noise behind me, turned around just in time to see a bald eagle swooping down on another spawning fish about 50 feet behind me. It grabbed the bass (about a 3 pounder) and flew back to its nest about 1/2 mile to feed its chicks.
One morning me and my uncle were headed to the duck blind at about 5:30. Completely dark. Then all of a sudden the sky lit up from the west horizon. This ball of fire continued from the west horizon all the way to the east horizon. It went from black dark to almost like daylight for almost a minute. My uncle and I stopped the 6-wheeler and sat in shock. Got back after the hunt and found out it was the space shuttle coming in to land.

For me the Grand Canyon is tied with watching 2' of fresh snow fall in one day on top of Snowshoe Mountain, it was breathtaking

I used to know of a duck roost that I refused to 'choot. When I made evening hunts, I'd shut down at legal time, then, on the way back from our whole, stop my boat on a really still evening, pour a big cup of coffee, and wait for it to begin.
Ducks of every kind hit this roost. Had to be at least 2,500 ducks using this willow thicket. Still, clear evenings made for the best watching and listening. I was truly an amazing site.
One day, at a place pretty close this roost, my brother and I lit about 80 mallards in the plugs. Sunny day, bout 9:30, and I'm talking a WAD of green heads. Closest was about 10 yards, furthest about 40. We let about half of them get on the water before we started in on them. Result was dead ducks, dying ducks, crippled ducks. A bunch of all of the above. We had one guy with us that had two guns.

Marlin greyhounding in rough seas
Marlin lit up boatside
Sunset/sunrise out in the canyon with no one else around
Shotgun start at a big marlin tournament (Emerald Coast in Destin)
Winter time sunsets out in the marsh
Mallards working a small pothole
Big buck chasing does during the rut
ETA: glowing sargassum at night in the wake of a sportfisher
Just a few off the top of my head

this doesn't fall into the category, really, but WTF??? had you seen the thing happening in real time, it would have to rank:

Whistler, BC for four days this past February, during which 78" of snow fell. It was utterly unbelievable. I thought places like that only existed in the imagination. I think about that place at least once a week. I'm counting the days until we go back.
