I went up to Warren, MI last week for a TACOM event and I ran across something y'all might like.

First, you know it's good b/c of this:

(Yep, that's Hendrick as in Hendrick Motorsports as in Rick Hendrick who sponsored all
those NASCAR winners.)

Plenty of room for guns, ammo, and people.

No top, don't need one...

I feel like I'd want at least a bit of armor if I'm shooting at people.

It had some of the best fab work I've seen. Smooth, clean, welds, nice pipefitting, and great detail work.

Nothing looked "bolted on".

Looks cool, but I'd like to have some armor.

I think its just for moving people around inside a base, but I don't know for sure. The rep they had there was talking to people who were actually going to buy them, so I didn't want to bother him.

That is one of the prototype vehicles that SOCOM has a RFP out on. It's not armored on purpose. They have a whole fleet of big, heavy armored vehicles. They are looking for light, fast, nimble to be able to go cross country. The heavy armored vehicles are confined to roads which makes them IED magnets. Going cross country means they don't have to worry so much. There is a height requirement so the vehicle can fit in a V-22 and I think I see some sort of joint on the roll bar to allow it to fold down. Confirming that would tell me if it is for that requirement of not.

Yep, my armor comment was directed at Napoleon's vehicle.

An MRAP it's not.

I have always thought there is a market for a "work truck" brand of pickups. Almost like the Shelby roadster to track cars.

You make a body and then match it to a power train of your choice.

I would like truck you could hose out, could pull, has real bumpers and tow points, ect.

If people will pay $20K for a Polaris they would pay $50k+ for real work truck.

That pic is not far off.

You have a major point.

People like "functional" things.

No bells and whistles, just a single-purpose device.

I just don't know how many people there are in that market.

This is the '71 Chevy K5 Blazer that was for sale at Mecum Houston a couple weeks ago. Was beautiful. Frame off restoration with a 454.

The best part is the sticker that says Diesel JP8 only.
