re: The Herpetology Photo Thread (Reptiles & Amphibians) - Teague
I think that's a juvenile racer, or maybe coachwhip....

re: The Herpetology Photo Thread (Reptiles & Amphibians) - Teague
Eastern diamondback is on my bucket list of wild snakes to find. Great find, Frenchjoe. Also, I'm happy to see so many photos in this thread and so many who appreciate the less popular wildlife....

I still think it's one of the Nerodia species. Was this boat in, or near the water? ...

re: Alabama Basketball: 2016 (and beyond) Recruiting - Teague
I'm going to say this BEFORE Petty goes to UK, so you guys don't think it's just sour grapes... We'll be fine without him. I don't think he's better than some of the other guys we'll get. ...
Mole?
Mole king, or prairie king. Someone mentioned one or the other. They look very similar and it's really just a geographical division. ...

re: Another snake ID - Teague
Well, now more people are chiming in. It's basically the same three guesses we had - nerodia, rat, and mole. I feel better. It's stumping the experts too....

re: Another snake ID - Teague
The consensus so far from the FB ID page is juvenile Plain-bellied Water Snake (Nerodia erythrogaster). ...

re: Another snake ID - Teague
I think I'm going to post this on a FB snake ID page. It's made up of herpetologists and REAL experts, unlike most FB nonsense. ...

re: Another snake ID - Teague
The fact that it doesn't clearly jump out at us is what pushes me to water snake - what has more variations in color and pattern than water snakes? If it were anything else I think it would be more obvious. This one is driving me crazy.
I just realized it was a BOAT engine cover. I...

re: Another snake ID - Teague
Hell, I don't know. The more I look at the photo, the less I know. Maybe it is just a rat snake from a weird angle. If I had to guess a snake that would be found in an engine compartment, that would be it. ...

re: Another snake ID - Teague
Too long and thin for a hog. I think it's just a weird photo. I bet it would be pretty obvious what it was, if we had another photo from a better angle. I still think it's a young Nerodia species, but I won't say it's NOT a rat snake or prairie king. I don't think it is though. ...

re: The Herpetology Photo Thread (Reptiles & Amphibians) - Teague
I'm going to spend a couple of days in the Bankhead NF/Sipsey Wilderness area in early June. Hopefully, I can get some good photos. But, until then, here's another photo of my pet to bump the thread. ...

re: Another snake ID - Teague
My first thought was young midland water snake. But, I'm not sure if they're in LA and I didn't feel like googling it. A second photo would help a lot....

re: Fans of Big 6 schools: If you had to cheer for a bottom feeder, who and why? - Teague
I'd pick auburn because I almost went there to study wildlife biology. I didn't and now work in a cubicle all day. But, on the bright side, I don't have to be an auburn fan....

We went out yesterday, but didn't find much that wanted to be photographed. My daughter did manage to snag a couple of friendly skinks. ...
I highly doubt it Teague. They're in a sealed glass case above their mantle. Nice try though.
 I don't collect things anyway. It's cool that your aunt has them though. I'll bet they do have some great stories. I've been into archery my whole life. My dad has been bowhu...
