Dang 4mile. I wish I was back home. I'm originally from Sulphur. Hunted Creole (former Sheriff Savoie's land)...Sabine and a few little little places off of Choupique bayou.

I'd jump on a lease in Cameron parish in a second!

We've got good goose hunting on our land but terrible ducks

If I ever get a lease I want consistent grays and teal

Thanks! I appreciate all the advice and have considered hunting public but never tried because I didn't know how. As far as your link Fat Neck, I've read about there. Do u just show up? Do u have to register for some sort of Lottery? Sign in the sign in station? Any advice on how to get started on public would help! Thanks again. Also has anyone tried Indian Bayou WMA?

I'm in the same boat with public land. I've been lucky to be able to hunt on a few friend's and family's places. I'd like to get to the point where I can make a hunt when I want and don't have to rely on someone else to invite me. I just don't know the rules and etiquette associated with WMA's. I've looked into leasing a blind and about the cheapest I've found is 5k, so that's out of the question for a while.

I was recently shown some pics and videos from some guys I know who spent a few days hunting a WMA in NELA and it looked like they had a great couple of hunts. They also said it was pretty easy hunting and there weren't many people since they went in the middle of the week. I want to try to make a trip like that next year, but I don't know where to start.

Sweetlake or Miamai???? I hunted in a blind between big lake and sweet lake with a guy once this year and that is where all the birds were! Bad year for ag fields, but pretty damn good down in the marsh in that area.

Fin, I don't know if you are joking or not but I recognize one of the guys from that facebook page and know for a fact he slaughtered the birds this year

Ah, we hunt across the lake in Texas from there. We could see thousands every day trading back and forth across the lake(Sabine Lake). My BIL lived in Johnson's Bayou for years and we got a lot of the pics from their hunts. A shite ton of grays over there. Great fishing out in there too. Point PLeasant?

KG6...My sentiments exactly. Sounds like we are interested in the same thing. Sherburne or Indian Bayou would be perfect for me since I'm in BR but not sure how to get started on public WMA.

I'm looking into getting a lease in that general area, been talking to a family friend who's company owns a lot of that land in the sweetlake area. I have blinds in fields and a camp in Lacassine so it would a 20-25 minute ride and in my opinion give me the best of both worlds
