Thanks for the tips everyone

I should not have tried to fix what wasnt broken with the Ribbits. I have always had great success with them and I figured I couldnt go wrong with the Strike King Rage Toad but the joke was on me.

I usually throw the Booyah Pad Crasher hollow body with pretty good success, but might have to dig down in my pockets real deep and get a Spro frog to try out.

What is the best time of year to throw a frog? I haven't had much success with the hollow body frogs. I like to throw them though.

They are catching them on frogs around here right now.

I usually throw them when it is hot as hell outside.

I start throwing them once the water hits about 60 degrees and don't stop until winter. They're my favorite thing to catch fish on (hollow bodies that is)

Do you change frog color by water clarity?

Patience, once they hit it, you have to hesitate even longer with hollow body frogs to get a good hook set...

The Pivot frog is specifically designed to not take on water & hook up ratio is solid.

Double Ribbit hook with scew at the end. I've always done well with small ribbits in a baby bass color.

I throw 'em anytime except winter. They are great search baits.

I usually fish a frog in tandem with a tungsten/punching-bait (like a craw tube) combination in heavy cover. A lot of times the frog will cause movement of the fish (but not necessarily a strike). And if I can't get a strike on the frog, the punch-bait comes in right after it.

No telling how many fish I've caught this way.

Gambler Cane Toad in Pepper grass color. Fish it around grass and hydrilla. Smoked a 6 lber last weekend on Toledo Bend with that frog on a grassy point.

In muddy water I throw exclusively black and yellow or black. I also put a worm rattle in them.

In clearer water I throw white early and in low light(cloudy) conditions, and black on bright sunny days.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Live Target hollow body frogs. That's pretty much all I've thrown for the past month and the bass are hammering it.

In Alexandria, we don't have a bass pro and academy doesn't carry live target (that I know of.) So all I fish are spro frogs. I may order a few live target frogs from bass pro online as I would like to try them out.

I'm sure Live Target are good frogs, but I don't understand why anyone would want/need that much detail on their frog. The only thing a fish sees is the bottom.

Not sure why they would. Academy does carry the Sebile frogs and I would like to try one of those as well. I like to try different brands to see if any are easier to walk than the spro.
